Hi Guys just a heads up really, I tweeted Gear4 regarding the powerpad asking if it's qi compatible, they replied today saying it is, I've just ordered one from ebay for just under £14 delivered, I'll let you know if it works when it gets here. :fingers-crossed:

Here's hoping this works, would be nice for us to have an affordable charger here. I'm still dubious after the whole Nokia chargers not working and I cant find much on this one, is not even on the gear 4 website

Update 1:
from googling it looks like gear4 are in the wireless charging consortium and they are all for Qi see http://www.nzherald.co.nz/technology/news/article.cfm?c_id=5&objectid=10610883

Update2:
well after checking the member list of the consortium i cant seem to find them

Update3:
I cant find it in their "official" product list either hopefully it does work but maybe hasnt been ran through any tests or they may of lost or not paid for their membership ?

Not sure why you had to post this as OP had already done so...?

I think it's not in their product list because it's been out for a while. If you look at the ebay listing for it the title shows that it comes with a charging case for an iPhone 3GS. I know this is an Android/WinMo community so people may not know much about iProducts but the 3GS came out in 2009. =P

Be careful, as suggested in jimmygoska's post this product is quite old. There is a review of it from november 2009 here.

The QI standard was released in August 2009, and the first compatible products were from Energizer in late 2010. I think the chap from gear4 made a mistake!

I wouldn't trust the current of that thing pumping power into my expensive N4. It looks like some knockoff plate with questionable electronic quality, IMO.

looking at a few youtube videos somethings just occurred to me will the n4 actually fit?
it's a fair bit bigger than the 3gs
before you start no im not talking about the sleeve i'm talking about the tray area of the pad
its a bit late for me seeing as i've already ordered one so if you see me selling it then you know it doesn't work or the tray is too small

The N4 is only 1.8cm taller and 0.6cm wider than the 3GS without the case on it. I can imagine the wireless case for the 3GS adds more than that.
