So I spoke too soon, here's another one that works:

LatinIME (Android AOSP keyboard)

It's similar to the current one and the Google Keyboard with the following differences:
Symbols menu is different (I don't see how, it just looks different)
Emoji section (Replaces enter in some apps, long press the bottom right key otherwise)

For emoji, I presume you need the font. If you don't have the font, I'm going to shamelessly plug my app

(The background is the emoji keyboard from my app, I just happened to test it on that [Ironic, eh?])

Download:
Dev-Host

Install as normal APK, push to /system/app/ if you need to

Note: Gesture typing doesn't appear to be working, make your backups!

Renamed original apk to latinIME.apk.bak and pushed new latinIME.apk to system/app, changed permissions to rw-rw-r, and rebooted. Got a constant force close on the keyboard so i wiped the aosp keyboard data and force close still happens. any suggestions? running 4.3.1 Paranoid Android

This works in the g2 just doesn't do the swype

Where are the rest of the emoji's? Like the ones you get on the Iwinn emoji keyboard?
Seems lacking.

Ur rom deodexed??push systems apps force closes on odex rom..
