To fix some phone signal (baseband issues) I replace the baseband switcher from v4 to v3.1...

And now my CM9 its exelent...photo, camcoder and deepsleep working.

This might be a stupid question....
I am in cm9 01/03 and it's generally working well.
I have had to un-root my device, to work with my companies mdm.
I still have access to the recovery boot, so ca I still push on the latest nightly, or do I need to root it again first.

Update:- I upgraded to the latest CM9 - phone is just rooted again, so I had to unroot.
No problem doing the upgrade, SuperOneClick made it very easy to unroot again. Need to give donation..

Thanks.

Commits for Quarxs GitHub

https://github.com/Quarx2k/android_device_motorola_jordan/commits/ics

! On a core2duo 2.0 GHz with 3GB ram building CM9 needs 2-2.5h !

How to compile CM9-ICS from quarxs source at github This was my way.

1. Install Ubuntu (10.04 LTS) (64bit) !You will need 50GB+ free HDD space min. 3-4 GB ram !!

2. Install the Build Packages

Install using the package manager of your choice:

For 32-bit & 64-bit systems:

git-core gnupg flex bison gperf libsdl1.2-dev libesd0-dev libwxgtk2.6-dev squashfs-tools build-essential zip curl libncurses5-dev zlib1g-dev sun-java6-jdk pngcrush schedtool

For 64-bit only systems:

g++-multilib lib32z1-dev lib32ncurses5-dev lib32readline5-dev gcc-4.3-multilib g++-4.3-multilib

NOTE: gcc-4.3-multilib g++-4.3-multilib is no longer available for Ubuntu 11.04 64-bit, but should still build without issue.

NOTE: On Ubuntu 10.10, and variants, you need to enable the parter repository to install sun-java6-jdk:

add-apt-repository "deb http://archive.canonical.com/ maverick partner"

3. Create the Directories

You will need to set up some directories in your build environment.

To create them:

mkdir -p ~/bin
mkdir -p ~/android/system

4. Install the Repository

Enter the following to download make executable the "repo" binary:

curl https://dl-ssl.google.com/dl/googlesource/git-repo/repo > ~/bin/repo

chmod a+x ~/bin/repo

!! Reboot for these changes to take effect.

5. Now enter the following to initialize the repository:

cd ~/android/system/

repo init -u git://github.com/Quarx2k/android.git -b ics

repo sync

# DOWNLOAD of files ~ 4GB

6. Download RomManager (DELETED IN BUILD)

mkdir vendor/cm/proprietary

cd vendor/cm && ./get-rommanager

7. Build

delete: ~/android/system/hardware/ti/overlay folder

cd ~/android/system/

repo sync # to have latest updates

rm -rf out/target

For CM9 branch :

source build/envsetup.sh && brunch jordan

or for AOSP :

source build/envsetup.sh && lunch full_jordan-eng

mka bacon

Use the signed zip to update the defy with the bootmenu recovery, not the ota package !

File is located in ~/android/system/out/target/jordan

For Jqvq6 JDK on Ubuntu use this .

sudo apt-get install python-software-properties

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:sun-java-community-team/sun-java6

sudo apt-get update

sudo apt-get install sun-java6-jdk

Hello, it doesn't work, the caller id setting is disabled (using the service provider's default). Is there any other workaround? Thanks

I was also having the similar issue where caller id settings are disabled...

But when i installed the CRT animation zip provided by pottkopp..it started working like a charm .. don't know how !!!

Link: http://xdaforums.com/showpost.php?p=23356794&postcount=2248

Download and install in CWM .. Reboot.. :)

P.S. : Confirmed it with multiple devices .. its working for sure... no more "Unknown" number issue in dialed numbers :)

    maybe a new hope :

    +nadlabak: Epsylon3: I've got it! SGX PVR 1.8 running despite the locked milestone kernel :D
    41
    yes, like for CM10 ... JB is a kind of Cleanup of ICS which was very experimental.... Its always better the second time, but not all features are merged yet in main CM repos... but almost all...

    So we are making a common repo for Defy and Defy+ also, and only this version will have official support... CM9 is already dead ;p
    41
    I suppose the image means that the hack in the DEFY's kernel to replace the PVR code is a success. Damn... I was hopeful, but this is beyond expectations! Great job devs!

    To be honest though, I'm not in a hurry to jump to ICS, it still has many bugs that don't exist in CM7.2, like some issues with the Data connection and WiFi issues I've been reading here in these forums. Maybe by Fall or Winter this year it will be stable enough for picky users like me ;).

    I was expecting problems, but no, that solve almost all problems without any other change !

    I think CM9 will be replaced by CM10, like Froyo after Eclair ... Time will tell us
