Bit of a noob question...
I'm interested in this phone, but will it work with any 3G providers in the US? It seems to only have WCDMA 2100 which means it wouldn't, but the GSM spectrum is fine. Am I missing something? It seems silly for a company to exclude a major audience like America by not putting in a 3G antenna that works here (too common a practice in Chinese phones it seems from looking around a little).
Thanks!
I would be very cautious of buying this phone for use in the US. I took my old Huawei U8220 (Pulse) to the US last year and got an AT&T SIM card for it. According to the phone specs and to AT&T themselves, it should have worked. But it would not connect to 3G no matter what we did. I eventually just bought a simple pre-paid phone to get me through, and used my Android phone as a PDA. No point paying the high AT&T rate for service I couldn't use.
You've got to understand that some of these Chinese companies are not targeting the US market in any way. They have a billion+ person market in their own country, and if they can get a good percentage of that market, they will be selling more phones than Apple sells iPhones. So instead little internet companies like the ones on Aliexpress or Etotalk deal with the International market. At least for now.....
If you want a Chinese phone but decent international support, consider Huawei or Lenovo or some other company that is already targeting the international market. And make sure the phone is made for sale in the US. At the moment, Jiayu is definitely not set up to deal with the US market. They don't even have anyone in customer service who can talk to you in English.
Just my $0.02 worth.
Dear G2S's owners!
Is Hungarian language aviable in custom ROMs?
What is the way of rooting of this gadget? I cannot find solution.
What is the quality of G2S? I am planning to have a G2S...
THX.
Sorry, I don't have my phone at the moment, so I can't tell you about Hungarian language. I'm sure someone else will respond.
The phone is rooted already.
Regarding the quality, you should read through this thread for some opinions on the quality. Mine had problems, and I had to send it back to Jiayu for replacement.
What problems did you have with it?
I red here and on other forums too that the GPS is weak enough. Slowly finds moons and drops signals continuously. Is that true?
(I do not have PNA, I have been using smartphones as navi for ages so that is a importaint point for me, the strong and stable GPS)
If GPS is so important for you I strongly recommend against buying this phone.
Go get any other phone not based on mtk chipset and with glonass support.

Personally, I had no problems with GPS. It locked in fairly quickly the first time, and very quickly each time after that.
I wonder if editing the GPS configuration to optimize it for different regions would help other people. I'm in Taiwan, so maybe that is why it worked well for me.
Jiayu S1 will be equipped with Snapdragon S4 Pro, but I don't know if it will be dual sim or not. Thanks for your advice.
I prefer Snapdragon, but unfortunatelly low-end and medium performance dualsim phones are aviable with Snapdragon chipset. (the strongest dualsim phones equipped with MSM 8225+Adreno 203+768 MB RAM, that is a joke...) JY G2S is strong enough and its size is suitable for me.
I have now an Xperia S what is a good gadget but only single sim...
I still waiting for a better phone with Snapdragon and leaving out MTK chipset.

Sounds good, hope dual sim... and won't be larger than 4,3 inches...
