Which region is this?

Sent from my C6833 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app

He's Polish, so i guess it's the European version? :cowboy: My next question is; should i update or not? I'm on the GPe ROM now and i've used KitKat for awhile, so should i do it? I love the GPe ROM, but i should probably try the new update - but i can't make a backup of the GPe ROM (well i can, but it's not that straight forward), so i'll end up in a pickle if i want to go back...

Why is that? Can't you just make a nandroid backup and then go back if you don't like the update?
I mean, it's a matter of going back to stock, relock, and eventually unlock again, install recovery, recover the nandroid backup...
Or have I missed something?

BTW, Italy here, no OTA or PCC updates...

oh

C6802 with your CDA still no update

I suggest you to wait for ftf and then try to flash... Also prepare your stock rom ftf (not zip - new radio for 4.3.A so probably you will not be able to connect to network). Don't know about bootloader... And when you download ftf start from flashing kernel only and see if it will boot.

STILL I'M NOT SURE IF FLASHING FTF FROM C6833 IS GOOD IDEA - DON'T KNOW DIFERENTS BETWEEN C6802 AND C6833 IT MAY DEMAGE YOUR PHONE!!!

Nah, it's not that easy. I can't backup while i'm on this boot.img (can't mount system), so i'll have to find another one. When i've backed it up i'm left with a non-funtional NAND backup unless i use the same boot.img after i've restored it (if it restores it at all). I have no idea why this happens, so if i go back to stock and regret it, i'll have to start from scratch again when i flash the GPe ROM. It's super fun.

Yeah that sounds real fun. Almost like smashing the screen with an hammer. XD
But hey, you DID start from scratch the first time you jumped on the GPe wagon, so that's like part of the deal... ;)

Yeah, i'm about to flash the KitKat build now. I first tried to restore my 290 NAND, but guess what? MD5 check failed, LOL, so i have no backup anymore. I'm sooo enjoying this.

I shouldn't, but I'm laughing so hard mate, you made my day. :D

1/ There are several - search FTF from PCC or somethng like that. The FTF is made from the data that PCC downloads from Sony, before you flash it to the phone, we use flashtool to do this.

2/ It mans it is not carrier branded. ir vodafone/tmobile/etc

3/ Unofficial versions are made by users (or sometimes one of the devs of the ROM) before the ROM supports that model of phone - for the ZU there are very few ROMs that support us so there are mostly unofficial ROMs. Unofficial ROMs should have the same software / feature set as the official ROM unless there are bug/make errors for non critical parts. Another way unofficial may pop up is if someone wants to tweak the build chain or optimisations in the build.

    HTH
