Hi there,

I just tried to flash a newer version of TWRP (to be able to write NAND backups on exFAT formatted external SD cards) but after that I could not boot the system. I had to flash a system rom again and restore from titanium backup.

After that - for whatever reason - I had the old version of TWRP recovery installed again..

So, is there any way to update TWRP without getting the same problem again?

Thanks in advance and best,
Julian

Can't you update recovery by using the goo manager app?

just do fastboot flash recovery openrecoveryXXXXX.img ? everything should be the same but your recovery should be updated :)
einfach mit fastboot flashen dein rom bleibt unangetastet.

Well, I'm not quite sure what I did (or did wrong) in the first place - but it works.
fastboot flash recovery did the trick.. now.

Thank you guys!

I've tried to flash TWRP latest for the M8 via terminal using the command which is shown on the TWRP website but it gives me an error message saying read protected or something, my bootloader is unlocked but I'm trying to flash TWRP and root, I don't use PC /Laptop so using terminal on my phone the only way unless I go to Internet cafe, anyone successfully flashed TWRP via terminal?
