Are there some files that we can simply remove/replace in order to disable these hacks ?
Volume+ has got all of its checkboxes disabled
I think the OP is now a bit misleading. The description mentions the "stock" kernel, and we actually have a mix of snq and Alex-V. My understanding of the "AN-Droid Stock" was to actually go from the new Alex-V back to the older snq.
I'm now running on the stock kernel, and I'm happy to see that CRT is still there. We only loose tp2wake/ext4.
I will report here if I get any crashes.

Usually class 6 is enough, but of course class 10 is ok too.
The class discussion is old and long.... Try a search here on the thread, I posted a link to good thread here. The class is not always the only thing to see at, for example read/write, access time, Transmission rate for big and small files and so on....
Just a quick question. How come that every time I try to free up some internal storage, whenever I uninstall 1 or 2 huge programs, the free storage space remains the same? For example, I`ve had about 25 MB of free internal storage space, I`ve uninstalled Angry Birds and Igo, and it shows that only 2 MB have been freed up. I`ve tried using some third party cache cleaner apps, but I can`t free up the necesarry internal storage.

Download something like app2sd (its an app) and force move them, oh and I presume you're using the data++ version...

I`m using the stock version, and the apps2sd market app wouldn`t help. U can do the same thing by accessing settings-applications- move to SD. The internal storage still remains at the same values if u do this.
Rubbish... Only things you can move with your method is apps that A2SD natively support it, with an app (loads to choose from) you can force more apps to move (A2SD+) .. To the original person make sure you don't force move apps that you use a widget for as the widget will no longer work...

You usually cant free internal memory by moving them to Sd-card. The build in a2sd+ feature does this on its own. The app goes nearly completely to Sd-ext, the data of the app remains on nand (internal memory). To free internal memory, you have to simply uninstall apps which use a lot of internal memory (you can see this for every app in settings, manage applications).
The best way to get more internal memory is to use the data++ edition ;-)

I could always save at least 50mb more by my method dunno how that worked you and lee always said things are automatic, install one of the apps man move all bet money you gain even more space... Still use it now with my evo...

Hey first of all please excuse my poor english.
I have 2 problems with this rom, other than that really excelent work!
First problem and the biggest its the bluetooth part, a problem in all roms but it apears way way more in roms with sense 2.1, i use a sony mw600 headset with my desire.
Its really hard to describe the problem (especialy with my poor english), if someone calls me or bip me and i unlock phone really fast and dial back bluetooth headset aint working it dials out i can see the icon for bluetooth headset connected but the call icon is not getting blue it stays green, its like it is not switching the call to bluetooth.
Afther this hapens sometimes i can fix it with a off / on for bluetooth on desire and restart for headset and reconect it to my device. If this is not working only solution is to reboot phone.
Again if someone calls me i talk to him end call and right afther i ended call i dial someone else the call will go out, but again no blue icon for call. Again same solution as before.
Another bug i found again with bluetooth (i use it a lot, and i talk a lot, and usualy have a call in wait or something like that) if i turn volume to max than turn it a bit low and again max my headset dies, it turns off and i have to restart it to work again. (this bug was not happening in other rom's with other sense versions)
And the second problem is it does not have the HTC flashlight aplication, i found it on xda instaled it but wasnt lighting the flash

Desire getting slow
First of all thx for the nice work you've done with this ROM.
My wife got my old Desire and are quite satisfied with it running your ROM, but lately it is becoming slower and slower. She haven't much installed, and only uses it the way it is.
MY QUESTION: Is there some way to speed it up, like a PC delete temp files, disc fragmentation and so on. We've tried reeboot but it wont last long.
Would some cache wipe or so help anything???

Why again a ROM based on old sense? In my opinion its still the fastest option for our hardware.
There are a few ROM's based on official HTC Gingerbread, why build one more? I want to have a stable and fast ROM with the most app-space possible. Cause of this, i build a full odexed ROM. To gain maximum space, there is a oxygen r2 HBOOT version. I could not find a ROM like this...
Why AN-Droid? Its simple, Anderl's Android = AN-Droid
ODEXED and Oxygen R2? A example: I installed around 100 userapps (including 7 big games) and still have 190 mb internal free...

in data++ build dalvik-cache is on nand
in stock build dalvik-cache is on sd-ext
What you get:
- With the provided patches you are able to switch this like you want.
- Dalvik-cache on nand gives you a bit faster ROM, but costs you space in /data. In the data++ build this is usually ok, in the stock build the available space in /data is not big... After a fresh flash dalvik-cache needs around 33MB
- I recommend to use dalvik on nand only with the data++ build. Its possible to use with stock build, but the /space in data will be low.
If you use dalvik2ext with the data++ build, you will be able to install a lot more apps, but the ROM could be a little slower.

- dalvik2nand: Download An-Droid_dalvik2nand
nandroid is recommended, flash in recovery, disable signature verification if needed, stock and data++ build is supported

Edit: If you update your ROM, the dalvik-cache will be on the "old" position. I recommend to flash the dalvik2nand / dalvik2ext patch again (without a reboot) after you flashed the update! If you don't do this, a bootloop is the possible reason (caused by too low memory to build the dalvik-cache!)

DSP Manager - Equalizer for your phone
You can use the attached DSPManager.apk and install it on your phone. But - changing the equalizer-settings can potentially harm your hardware (i haven't seen something like that, but could be...) So, use this on your own risk!

Battery saving tips...
- Disable pocket-mode in settings - sound
- Undervolt a bit - but do this carefully! (Incredicontrol)
- underclock the ROM a bit - usually it runs smooth and responsible even with 766 Mhz :-D
- change the CPU governor to smartassV2 (use SetCPU for example)
- disable gps and WiFi if not in use
- check your sync settings and use a lower sync frequency if possible
- use a app called 'Current Widget' from Market to see how much power your phone consumes (mine in standby around 2-4 mA)
- you can use a app called 'Android Assistant' to see in detail how much power a app uses - perhaps you installed a program which consumes a lot power...

download and flash An-Droid_orig_gps.zip, if you get GPS problems with 2.0.1 and newer ROM's

This is a port for the stock clock widget of this ROM (version 2.x.x), its not the Sense 2.1 Clock Widget. If you want to go back to the white or black clock, see post 2. This widget will also work with the expresso mod.

Its possible to get the QuickSettings and RecentApps from Sense 2.1 ROM's.
I will not build this into the ROM as default - please choose yourself what you want. Enabling this could slow-down the notification bar a bit. Especially the RecentApps are known for slow-downs. But try it yourself!

with
File System Check - Disabled
and the Rom is working flawlessly.... None other is working like this... I am using it till the kernel 3 developed and ANy Sense 4 rom will be available for our DESIRE...
