550mhz open eclair:

http://rs520.rapidshare.com/files/347490949/OpenEclair-v1.0.1.zip

SetCPU, choose Droid. Make custom frequencies - 128000 245000 etc. That should work.

Rapidshare did 10 downloads then cut off any further. I'm happy to seed it on bittorrent if I can get the file.

You Might want to add the Attached Tools on Post #112 to the Main page So it's easy to find for everyone looking for them...

Just bringing this to the forefront, as it doesn't seem to be getting much attention - but it has to be as significant as the 10mb ram hack. This ROM is blazing fast in my opinion, even though it's an older cyanogenmod. Use SetCPU and choose "motorola" for device.

There is currently one stable 550mhz ROM available for download. The kernel should be compatible with donut and eclair ROMs, from what I gather. I had nothing to do with this work, I just want to see everyone's Dream come True! Hehe.

- of course, feel free to delete my thread as soon as you think it's useless, lol.

Direct ROM link:

Wipe, Flash, and then use SetCpu, choosing "Motorola Droid" for device, if I remember correctly. You should be able to clock it at 550mhz.

Just saying it kinda seems like this is a drastic over exaggeration and like i said, people are experiencing the "placebo" effect

I've tried to allow for the placebo effect. I've also never run CM v4.2.3.1 on any phone. My first CM ROM was v4.2.5....so I don't have even hazy memories to compare with v4.2.3.1.

Having said that, I have been using a lot of fast ROMs over the past few months and this one with the 550MHz kernel is at the top of the table.....especially with respect to network activity for some reason. The downloads I tested were faster by about 20%...and the browser refresh was the best I've seen in ages....though maybe this is just the browser in CM v4.2.3.1 reminding us of how Eclair code in later Donut ROMs can / may slow stuff down.

Is it REALLY faster? Well.....by at least 4% it must be....and that may just be the part of a blink of an eye that made me look at it and think "Yeah....this is nice."

Working Great on CM 4.2.14.1

Thanks to Eugene, Pershoot, and CoolBHO.

How-to for CM v4.2.14.1
:
1. Download Pershoot's kernel image and place it on SD card
2. Download and Install CoolBHO's SetCPU app
3. Download custom setcpu.txt and place it on SD card
4. Boot into recovery and flash Pershoot's kernel image
5. Open SetCPU, Allow SU Request, and scroll down to Custom Frequency Config
6. Have fun!

Note: If you're using a userinit and user.conf, you must disable cpu clock. Or simply change the max frequency from 528000 to 550000. Actually, disable cpu clock since SetCPU renders it useless.

I can confirm that this method works.

AndroidGuys claims 628mhz?

http://www.androidguys.com/2010/02/08/g1-mytouch-3g-speed-boost/

So... all of these seem limited to 550... what else is needed for more?

Just Hit 626.9Mhz on the MT3G.... Will get the Source Upload asap! http://twitpic.com/121hxs

Should I go Higher?

Ahh... so anyone wanna share that kernel for CM? 600+ makes me happy. 550 makes me yawn. :)... Hoping that more juice will stop the skips/pauses in my podcast playback.... but probably in vain.

Here The Soucre for 780

Here The Source to 780Mhz..... So far the mt3g is running fine... No smoke yet!! http://twitpic.com/121lnv & http://twitpic.com/121m1t

Now, this exp. is only if your using msm, but substitute msm for any source you're building.....

Exp. would look like:
(msm) ~/mydroid/msm/arch/arm/mach-msm/ For acpu
(msm) ~/mydroid/msm/kernel/ ( Personal changes I made )
Hope's everyone enjoys It!
