@Admin: Could you please open a new section for this kind of device? Otherwise it's difficult to find all info about this tablet because people are posting in different sections.

I finally managed to have working at the same time:
+ Google Talk with video chat
+ Added Market + auto market update working
+ Contacts and Calendar sync (There is no Accounts menu in System Settings. Once the Google Account is added, you can ajust the Sync configuration on the Contacts / Calendar apps. )

To get that you have to:
0) Set USB Debugging on and unknown sources in System Settings
1) Get Root. To do so you have to options:
1.a) Using SuperOneClick
1.b) Using Update.zip ( CWM Recovery) and su-2.3.6.3-efgh-signed.zip
2) Install Ghost Commander (getting and using the file com.ghostsq.commander.apk)
3) Ghost Commander -> application -> settings ->Root mode on leaving /sdcard
4) Copy the attached files to the sdcard
5) Navigate to /system and then click on "Remount /system"
6) Compare the files with the ones you have in /system. Copy the missing ones.
7) Make a settings->privacy->factory reset

Here you can find the working /system files from a Coby Kyros MID1125 4G Android Tablet:

Do you have a copy of a system img for your device? As I'm trying to revive mine so to speak. Thanks much

Coby Kyros MID1125 @Admin: Please open a new section for this kind of device?

Thank You! While Google has the links sending me here, trying to search Coby in this forum redirects me back to Google! :( I'm sad enough because I'm pretty sure I'm going to have to return this & it was a gift.. I can do more on my phone than with this tablet, I think!?!:confused:
I would love to know if I could get the few things I like to do working on this tablet so I don't have to return it.. :eek:

kernel from mid1125

anyway you could also upload the kernel (/zImage) and /boot/ dir?
whatever tool you used to grab the /system/ dir will work.

if you wanted to make a system image, you could grab the most of it by (as root) dropping to the terminal, issueing the 'mount' command to list all currently mounted partitions, and then using the 'dd' command to create a block copy of the partitions.
you have to be careful with 'dd' - its nicknamed 'disk destroyer' for good reason!
'dd' takes two parameters - IF and OF, or InputFile and OutputFile.
IF=/dev/path/to/partition
OF=/sdcard/name/of/file.tar

but if there is anyone with a MID1125, the know-how, time and willingness to grab the /boot/* and /zImage and upload it to somewhere that would be pretty bad@$$ of them!

There are like 775 files in the system folder...seriously? Compare all of them to what I have?

The "no root" method works but leaves many things incompatible and or not showing in the market. Kindle and nook for android do not show as well as flash player and others have been reported.
Any word on weather or not this method has the same issue or is it worth going through the extra work.

Wondering if this will work for MID7125. Seen/heard here that 8125, 1125, 7127 and 7125 are all the same innards.
Really need to get contacts and synced for my son, for gmail and talk.

also, what version of gapps are they coming from?
