see cache usage i doubt is there

tbh, all I have in my /cache/ is an empty lost+found folder and a2 logs in the recovery folder.

Must be in data somewhere, I do suspect /sdcard/android/data/ but not sure where in there tbh ;s

might be a silly question , but this update will have updated firmware with better touch drivers and proximity fix ( atleast it should?)

Infact, you just have to logcat and look for the line like

W/SystemUpdateHelper( 64): !!! REBOOTING TO INSTALL /cache/desirec-ota-104882.7b1e5cca.zip !!!

From 1.29 it does indeed have new touch panel drivers, jury is still out on the proximity stuff but you will see for yourself soon enough I guess!

My thinking was that the pre update may have been firmware to prepare the phone for 4.2.2.... it's happened before

ok ... I'm going back to 1.29.401.16 ... after a preupdate from 1.48mb now i'm loading the 2.24.401.1 ota ... live in germany

The update said that fixes the issue which says: "No updates for you" ! After update and restart it gives you a permission to download the real update !
