Greetings!

You must have seen many Salat (Prayer) Reminder applications on the internet, but I've brought an unusual application, which doesn't only reminds you but your friends as well.

What does this application do?
•Gets 5 prayer times per day for current year. So you don’t have to find the times every day*.
•Sends SMS reminder to a friend, family or to yourself (multiple recipients), 10 minutes (you can change this time now) before the prayer time**.
•It does not run in the background (saves battery/memory/processor).
•Wakes up PPC from suspend/sleep mode and send SMS.
•Sets reminder as Appointment (default is set as task).
•Sends Test Message.
•Azan/Athan.

•NET Compact Framework 3.5
•Windows Mobile 6.x
•Touch Screen
Note: App was never tested on non touch-screen phone and Windows Mobile 5.x

Short How to:

  1. Download and Install the application.
  2. Select Option button then Calendar Settings.
  3. Enter you location info, Calculation Method and hit Update.
  4. Hit OK. When it asks to select a contact select any contact (you have to put atleast a number in there)
  5. Hit OK. Now you should see all the times.
  6. If you scroll down the the bottom, you will see a button with timer. Hitting it will stop the timer.
  7. Now set options as desired. From the option menu.
Don't Forget to update High Resolution Start Menu Icon from applications menu. (only Supported in WM 6.5+)
* Tip: You can use Wi-Fi, ActiveSync or Sync Center to update the calendar/timing instead of using your Data plan.
** Standard messaging charges may apply.

•Change sms format, Like "Zohar at 12:42 PM" and the next line "13 October 2010".
•Athan/Azan Option.
•Sending SMS to the chosen recipients to the caller during prayers interval times if set by the user.
•Auto silent feature after Azan with a customized timer.
•More User-Friendly recipient/group selection with history.
•Revert back to Non-sense interface graphics, for non-touch screens.
•Implement actual code for calculation of the timetable.
•Add 24hr time format option.

How to translate to any language:
  1. Download the attached "eng.Language.txt" file
  2. Open the file and translate everything after equal(=) sign.
  3. Save the file as [3 char language name].Language.txt for example "eng.Language.txt".
  4. Post the file here so i can add it in the future updates.

Check out the Language files under App\Language folder...
vadim_bogaiskov, can you please update the rus.Language file and post it here. - Done, Thank You.
If anyone else needs another Language file, please make it as the english one and post it here so I can put that in future updates.

You can add the language file in Language folder and it will show up in the interface to select.

Also this also resolve people who wanted to edit the messages, sms messages, lables and etc etc... You can change anything in the langauge file, just make sure it's in the same order as it is right now.

Good to know that you liked it.

I used have non-sense interface, but when I saw Sense UI; didn't realize that it will not work on non-touch screens (I am not even sure that if it suppose to work with non touch or not :p ).
When I get enough time I'll try to put both interface together for touch and non touch. If I need help I surely will message you.

Thank you for your efforts for this application. I'm using a T-Mobile_LEO HD2 with the stock ROM (CF 3.5) and i am getting error messages that CF 3.5 is not installed.

I do not check to see if CF 3.5 is installed. Although some components my app uses does need CF 3.5.
Try to reinstall .Net CF 3.5 by downloading it from here...
My wife have a T-Mobile HD2 and it works perfectly on it.
If reinstall dosen't work pm me so we can figure it out...

It's been working like a charm on my Sprint Touch Pro2. The only thing I have noticed is that the scrolling is laggy. Everything else works fine. I also made a quick HTC style icon for the app, if you want to use it.

It does lagg on my tilt 2 also for some reason... first i thought that may be processor is slow... then when i installed it on my old wing 268mhz it works perfect... i might try to fix it...

I did already included a high resolution icon with my app... from the menu you can click Update Icon... and after a soft reset you should see a high res icon...

Your icon is kool also :p ill save it...

Could it be that the HTC scroll is enabled and causing conflict with the built in scrolling functions in the SDK?

Hi,

When i set the calendar settings, i have an issue:

It make ErrCode : CD01

<conversion from string "#01/13/2010 00:00:01 pm" to type 'date' is not valid.

My setting date is french

Any idea?

    nice to see a fan :D after a long time

    the problem is that i don't have to much time to spent on my loving hobby :D
    at the time i made this windows phone app I was learning visual basic .net and had no wife and kids :D
    And now I have to learn programming for android and have a wife and a daughter and another one coming soon :D

    It took lots of years of research and study to make this app... :p

    I will definitely consider remaking this on android if Allah wills (inshAllah).

    I am really glad to see you're still monitoring this thread.
    I am still using this app on my Windows phone, doing everything not to move onto Android lol.
    Just like the previous poster, I've come to request this app for Android handsets (as I know I'll have to move on to it eventually).

    I can see you've said you can't commit to the project at the moment, but I'm hoping you'd reconsider as the demand for this great application is immense. It's one of a kind.
