Then it didn´t reboot in real, just your UI crashed. You ROM forced therefore something like a soft reboot to restart the UI. And thats also why it didn´t ask for a pincode. It´s possible your launcher is causing this in case you are using a different launcher. Or one of your apps running in the background

I had this happen with a earlier Beta after changing the baseband. Had to go back to the baseband I used before to fix it. A few Betas later this didn´t happen again after upgrading the baseband.

Regarding battery drain and reboots. With RC4 I had also such a high battery drain like already reported, but no reboots. Well I used RC4 only for a short time due to the battery drain issue I was having with it, so can´t really say about the stability regarding reboots. Unfortunally I still had no time to narrow down what was causing the battery drain.

Rolled back to RC3 because of this and the bettery drain went to normal. With RC3 I had one reboot before testing RC4. This happened yesterday again, so now I rolled back to RC2 because this one was working absolutely stable without one single reboot.

There is just one thing I noticed when RC3 rebooted. In both cases it happened after leaving my house by going outside into the cold weather we are having now here. So it´s possible the huge temperature drop was causing this. In this case this should also happen with the currently used RC2 too, so I need to take a look at it.

I don't use third-party launchers, only rely on trebuchet since erlier alphas... and neither I do install too much applications, mostly google apps. The problem raises every time I manually reboot or halt the phone... and the shutdown process seems ok... I'll try to have a deeper look.

As opposite i tried to upgrade baseband to the latest version, with no improvements. Tried to go pristine but no way either... uhm...

Wifi doesn't work when the screen turned off

Version: [ROM][ICS][IMM76L] CyanogenMod 9 RC (Build 5)

App/Game/Subject: Wi-Fi

Bugtitle: Wifi breaks when the screen turned off.

Description: When I turned off the screen, the wifi connection will break and I can't receive message from whatsapp and other apps. But when the screen turned on again, wifi will connect automatically again.

Same thing happens here with RC5. The phone restarts from time to time, doesn't ask for
pincode and Mobile Data doesn't work anymore. I have to shutdown the phone an reboot
properly to get Mobile Data back to work.
Is there a log file which could help to narrow down the problem?

Its weird, try to reflash the rom, wipe and format everything...

I experienced this as well. Sometimes it even happens when I receive a call.

Did you check your WIFI Settings? Is it set to keep WIFI turned on while screen is off or to turn it off?

If u really need to save your contacts to your sim just use an app... There are several on the play store

I had the same problem. Just go the recovery and just reflash the rom over your current one. Then fix permissions and it should work. Worked for me ;)

I use the kernel that comes with the CM9 RC5... I did not bother to flash another kernel.

So far that seems to be the only problem I am facing with and I am loving this ROM. Hats off to arco.. He is a great developer and thanks to him we get a chance to play with CM9 and CM10.. I hope this issue is something simple to fix.

It was very weird to see another user have a problem with random reboot. But, i never have a problem like that. It was just lucky for me or what:D

Should I use Autokiller memory optimiser? Or just leave the default values?

Problem: Two carrier names (same) on lock screen. (it bothers me)
Problem: APN list empty, should i use the existing fix in main thread even in RC5? (i thought arco implements it into rom)

I also experience this. I came from a pristine installation. I downloaded all my apps, while waiting, came back to my phone. I see that my phone shutdown. I on again and same happen. Continue to install other apps, while waiting, the phone again is shutdown.

Though I don't experience now after flashing hadidjapri kernel. Maybe it will be happen again, maybe not.

Which was the last stable 2.6 Kernel? I am switching back to 2.6 Kernel series becasue of reboots. I slept for 9 hours, and when i checked the battery afterwards.. it shows an up time of 3 hours (silent reboots).

where can i get latest 2.6 series kernel?

    Strange, cause nothing has been changed regarding wifi between RC2 and RC3.

    Confirmed. Was caused by frame rate fix for back camera. I fixed it for front camera now, and compiled a new camera.msm7x30.so
    Push it to system/lib/hw and reboot.

    Preview and recording should be a lot smoother now.

    How can I update this ROM?
    Unless exceptions aren't mentioned, you simply have to flash the latest ZIP-file of the ROM using CWM. You files should stay untouched, but still it is always recommended to make a backup.

    Does it support my language?
    CyanogenMod (9) is multilingual, so it supports all common language in the world.

    How can I update my basebandversion?
    a) You can flash the Baseband from here.
    or
    b) Make a Nandroid backup of your current CM9 -> wipe everything -> Flash the latest stock ROM from your region via ODIN ->
    flash ClockWorkMod -> wipe everything -> flash CM9 -> restore data.

    What is CWM ?
    CWM stands for ClockWorkMod. It is a custom Recovery which enables complete backups (Nandroid backup) and complete restores.
    (HowTo install)

    What are GApps?
    GApps stands for GoogleApps. Google Apps = Google Play Store, Google Calender ...
    Due to copyright, CyanogenMod is not allowed to implement GoogleApps directly in their ROMs, that is why you have to install it manually.

    How do I install or update Google Mail?

    Where do I find the external SD on CM9 ?
    The directory has changed (The following are the directories before swapping):
    external(physical) SD card: /external_sd/ or /mnt/external_sd/
    internal SD card: /sdcard/ or /mnt/sdcard/

    How do I swap the internal and external SD on CM9 ?
    Settings -> Storage->Menu-Button->Storage configuration (a restart might be necessary)

    How do I activate MTP on CM9 ?
    Settings ->Storage->Menu-Button->USB connection->mark MTP

    How do I enable brightness control for the notification bar?
    Settings -> System ->Status bar ->Activate brightness control

    My phone restarts randomly after update?
    Note: All your Data will stay untouched (Backup/Restore)
    1.Open ClockWorkMod->backup and restore->backup to externl sdcard
    2.wipe data/factory reset
    3.wipe cache partition(not sure if needed)
    4.install zip from sdcard->choose the latest CM9 version
    5.advanced restore from external sdcard->choose backup->Restore data
    6.reboot

    The battery of my device drains rapidly fast, what can I do?
    After flashing a new ROM you will have to do several(5+) charging cycle in order to get a calibrated battery.
    There are also battery calibration apps, such as Battery Calibration which help you with the battery calibration. Long story short: Be patient.

    My Data connections / Adding APNs doesn't work, what can I do?
    It is a known bug in (Alpha 1). Flash this zip to solve this bug.

    What is a funny SIM card ?
    A funny SIM card, is a SIM card which provides GSM connection, but does not let you enable data connection, because APNs can't be added.(only on CyanogenMod)Flash this zip to solve this bug.
