adamh or maybe someone else may know how to help me with this.

when i unplug from full charger 100% the phone changes to 99% instantly. i tried this:

charged to 100%, power off, charger to 100%
power on,
charged to 100%, power off, charger to 100%
then rebooted into recovery and cleared battery stats.

but im still having this problem, any ideas how i can fix this?

i was having the same problem with the FB kernel, but as soon as i went to SetiroN 147, i was able to get 100% to stick....and not just for a couple seconds :D

Im running 3.0
When I unplugged the first time after a 100% charge it dropped to 97%.
I unplugged the phone, shut it off..waited a few seconds, turned it back on then charged it again to 100%.
Then I unplugged it again this time dropped to 98%, so I repeated the step above, and when I uplugged after 100% it stuck.
Im also keeping track of battery drain, dropped 1% in the first hour.
Hope this helps.

I'm actually happy with my cappy with no lagfix. I may not be a power user like some, but i get no lag going through menu's/app drawer or between apps. Don't have any problems with dropped calls, unexpected reboots, market issues, GPS locks in about 10seconds within 5Meters, etc (knock on wood). Also running the R64 theme with white batt...check it out.

3.5 will be having the following:

1. JPP modem with 850 enabled by default(greatly improves GPS)

2. Working home haptic feedback

3. A wipe and a "real" no wipe version.

What else should we do with it??
Adam and Phoenix team
First of all thanks for all the great work you are putting into this. As for list of new features for 3.5; There is an option to change the scheduler in the OCLF (one click lag fix) application. When I used it, the deadline scheduler made the phone noticebly faster compared the the standard cfq scheduler. It would be useful to at least have the option tu use other schedulers, particularly the deadline scheduler.

BTW, I used the OCLF applications chaneg scheduler feature in Phoenix kernel, it seem not to be able to change the scheduler based on the log output.

For those few posting about random shutdowns, that is 99% most likely a hardware issue. My cappy ran flawlessly for 2 months before I started getting random shutdowns while the phone was sleeping. As soon as I started noticing them it didnt take long before it was happening every time I left my phone alone for a few hours. I called ATT and it is a known issue for every cappy made before Nov '10. Call and get a replacement and hope the refurb you get doesnt have the same issue as most likely it will have been made before nov. Dont have the link but, there is a large thread about this very issue. So far the new cappy I got last week is running fine.

Fingers crossed that it doesnt start happening again.

I had a quick question, I just notice that the wireless and network settings menu has an option for mobile AP (access point) which is the same as tethering right? And I can't remember seeing this in the stock ROM, so will AT&T charge me for using this feature?

Thanks in advance

The thing is, i've checked my cappy.
It's not listed in the range of devices with this problem.
And to be honest, i've never had random shutdowns at all.. until phoenix 2.5 and 3.0
And mine is already a refurbished unit that's pushed to a 3rd world country here in south east asia. Returning it to AT&T is very much impossible.

billibong:
My last cappy was above the imei range posted on xda aswell but acording to att the imei range posted here was way off. My old one was replaced with no hassle whatsoever. Btw I got my old cappy in october and it was above the range posted. Att specificaly told me that every cappy produced before mid november has the potential for random shutdowns.

As far as tethering in the post above I have used it a few times with no charges from att. Just be carefull cuz it really uses your 2gb of data fast.

Just flashed back to JL3 modem and my download is 2735 and my upload is back to 1400+. I'll stick with JL3 for now.

How can I verify that the 850 band is enabled? On JPP my speeds were lousy but on JL3 they are great. If 850 is disabled, what do I need to do to re-enable them?

I'll continue to research these questions since apparently I've just not read the correct thing yet (but I have watched video after video, read countless threads with conflicting methods and shortcuts). Would just like an explanation on what all these tools are doing in general so that its not a black box, turn the crank and dont ask how or why sorta deal every time I flash a ROM or install a new modem. Maybe I should be search for information on linux instead.

Since I flashed the first time(pheonix 1.5) using super one click, rooting the phone and then following all the steps through all the different colored CWR menus. I was happy with the phone and getting around ATT restrictions and bloat.

SO, when 2.0 came out I wanted to flash that. Instead of reinstalling stock ROM (fearing that bricking during that process was more probable), I just did a three button reboot where a "RED" menu comes up in CWR. This menu does not show reinstall applications and I did not disable voodoo lagfix (whatever the heck that is). I had already moved my new rom's zip file to the internal SD card using mass Storage USB mode and so proceeded to install the ROM using the RED menu. Well, this all seems to have worked and now I've just done it again with 3.0 (seemingly successfully).

Can anyone tell me what risks I'm taking or what problems I'm causing myself by doing what I'm doing?

I dont know the significance of lagfix disabling or what the blue/green/red menu on CWR mean. I dont know why ODIN is necessary to load back in a stock rom. I do understand the concept of rooting to allow permission for applications to access low level functions.

Maybe there's a write up on CWR I didn't read yet? Thanks for the hand holding..

Just some comments

With all of the talk about not having 850 on the JPP modem, I was curious how I check that. GPS is good. Call reception and quality are good for me.

3.5 will be having the following:

1. JPP modem with 850 enabled by default(greatly improves GPS)
2. Working home haptic feedback
3. A wipe and a "real" no wipe version.

What else should we do with it??

Phoenix 3 is damn near perfect for me. I've flashed JPP. Can add in haptic if I want from your earlier post. Battery is good after bump charge (after 24 hrs, I was @ 32% this morning - light to moderate use yesterday). GPS was good. This morning I will check out the GPS more (since flashing to JPP) and see how it goes on my commute into work.

EDIT: light to moderate use equals: an hour of BT calls. about 30 min combined non-BT calls. GPS testing to and from work (20 miles). check/post on XDA throughout day. Email sync every 15m (Tasker - I don't leave autosync on all day), either wifi or data on all day, about 45 minutes of music, flashed JPP last night, 30 min (ish) of reading news/blogs.

I had put miui in a previous build and no one liked it.

I liked it. So I pulled it from previous build. I think the main reason people didn't like it was because it didn't have lockscreen controls.

How to back up your APPS + data (not system data) with Titanium Backup

Go to the market and download and install Titanium Backup

Load up Titanium Backup and allow super user.

Go into Preferences and change Backup Folder name to external_sd/TitaniumBackup (this will save a copy of the files to your external SD card for restoring after flash) then click back and it will reload.

Now go to batch and select backup all user apps. Select the apps you want and hit run batch (top of the screen) once it is finished (you will know as there is a notification in the drop down that it is done) Double check you external sd for the Titanium Backup folder, if it is there then you are good, if not double check the spelling. Make sure it is an underscore between external and sd. ex. external-sd = Wrong..... external_sd = right so it should read external_sd/TitaniumBackup

VoltageApp settings will stick until reboot, but to get them to stay after rebooting, this is what worked for me; You will need Root Explorer for this one

Setup Voltage App like you want

    Backing Up your NV_data

    Thread With more info

The reason its important to back up your NV_data (Non-volitile) is this has your imei, product code, unlock codes and model. This informatioin is not recreated with a JF6 OCD (One click downloader)

Certain Roms write data to your NV_data

(i think it was JPC leak from I9000 that was the first one. it changed everyones product code to I897ZKAKOR)

Axura changes the product code to I959ZKATMB or something like that

The Correct Product code for our Captivate is I897ZKAATT.

If your IMEI says 004999010640000 begin_of_the_skype_highlighting 004999010640000 end_of_the_skype_highlighting begin_of_the_skype_highlighting 004999010640000 begin_of_the_skype_highlighting 004999010640000 end_of_the_skype_highlighting end_of_the_skype_highlighting this is incorrect also and you may find your phone to stop making calls as this is like a debugging or prototype imei

Finally, if your unlock code is FFFFFFFF, you need this repair in order to unlock your code

All of these can be fixed with Helroz's Repair_nv_data.zip Found Here: http://perso.numericable.fr/helroz/P...ir_nv_data.zip

I did not create the software or any of the instructions, THis is credited to Helroz in the vibrant forum (please thank and donate to him) he came up with all of this, Im just sharing knowlage.

this can be found here: Unlocking Tmo Vibrant

    http://xdaforums.com/show...&postcount=103

Just read the read me first. then the .Doc Make sure you are at Stock JH7 (I didnt try jf6) and root with busy Box (Super One click by CLShort Fuse worked for me)

Then Step 2,3 and 4. Monitor your phone for SU access attempts, it has several and be patient and read what its asking you to look for,

Now if you havent Backed up your NV_data then now is the time. I Use root explorer and just copy the /efs folder to a safe place (I have a copy on my ext. sd card and a backup hard drive)

You can also Use SGS tools (not SGS tool Box) to do a product code check. This also copies all of the pertenant NV_Data files to a folder on your internal SD card. you can use these also if you want.

Flashing JPP Modem to enable 850

The only guaranteed method for enabling 850 on jpp that is proven to work every time is to:

    Flash stock using odin
    Flash jg8 modem
    Flash rom with jpp modem

Hopping around to other modems and back to jpp after this will kill 850 as well.

For some this is not an issue as they are in areas where 850 is not utilized by AT&T but for others jpp will cause headaches if they try using it without following these steps.

Thanks to Newter55 for the find

Download the libcamera.so from here: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/11343737/libcamera.so
Use root explorer or whatever method you prefer and make a backup copy of /system/lib/libcamera.so just in case you need to get it back.
Copy the libcamera.so you downloaded from above link over the existing one in /system/lib.
Delete or rename the existing email.apk in /system/app to test that this fix works.
    Reboot phone.
Open Barcode Scanner and enjoy the fact that it no longer force closes.

This will allow people to use whatever email.apk they prefer...or if they are like me they can get rid of the apk altogether.
