I wouldn't put too much into what some support person might say. At times I don't even think the "techs" have ever touched the product they're supporting.

You are right, I have a friend that had just been hired as an apple product specialist at their headquarters here in Singapore and she has never touched or used an apple product in get life.

Both the P6200 and P6800 should definetly receive the ICe update, this is total BS and pure laziness on their part. If a few devs here had all sources the damn thing would be built in a week. Maybe they're confused how to TouchWiz ICS and make it junk.

Anyways, lets try to support the CM9 devs as much as possible. Thats where the real ICS is at!

I can see it now, stock Samsung touchwiz 4.0.3 vs. CM9 = 2 total different operating systems

Do we have any custom ROMs based on ICS4 that are out of alpha/beta and work ok on the tab?
Im tired of waiting for the official update, and since google switched to google play even the market doesn't work anymore

I asked the technical support of my country on the update of ics, I say the TAB 7.7 does not receive ICS.

:confused::confused::confused::confused:

Trust me Amilio, at least in our countries, Technical/Customer (un)Support knows nothing about nothing, in what concerns to future products/implementations.

We will have ICS, no doubt...as to when, well...

Indeed it is. The Tab 2 is very responsive. Let's hope that Samsung keeps their word.

Its so much faster, very little lag at all. Theres a few minor things Im getting used to going between my HC 7.7, and my ICS Gtab 2. And to me the perfect OS would be a mix of both of them. But overall I like iCS much better. Looking forward to it on my 7.7 :)

when exiting the apps or the browser, or any application for that matter how fast is it? because on HC on the 7.7 it is laggy and takes sometimes 2-3 seconds before the desktop appears.

would be nice if samsung released the update at the may 3rd event.

No lag leaving browsers, but I did notice that some videos that worked fine using Dolphin and skyfire on my 7.7 wouldnt load on the 2 7.0. Since then Ive uninstalled all after market browsers, and gone to using the stock browsers on both my tabs. They load all videos like they should.

I only use the stock browser, even on my galaxy s2 as well, it is quite fast on the S2 and no issues with loading of videos.

have you ran any benchmarks on the new tab 2? and compared it to your 7.7?

As far as speed between the two theres really no comparison. The 7.7 is much faster, even with HC. Heres Quadrants and Antutu on both.

Quadrant

Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 Total = 2791

Galaxy Tab 7.7 Total = 3193

Antutu

Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 Total = 5089

Galaxy Tab 7.7 Total = 6381

ICS is rolling out for bell phones and tabs in Canada (galaxy tab 10.1, 7.0, 7.0 plus, and 8.9) so hopefully that's a sign of things to come for the 7.7 I mean if a carrier can get all of that ready we shouldn't be too far behind

Just did my monthly questioning of Samsung Australia (I always ask them because they always answer, even though they're hardly the authority on Android releases). Usual type of reply, but it's at least a confirmation that it's, uh... Coming.

"Thank you for your patience, ICS is in testing stages for Tab 7.7 and we hope to see it released soon in Australia. Stay tuned!"

I have to say, I am not particularly impressed by Samsung on this one - notwithstanding the fact I was wanting to wait for thr 64GB 3G version of the 7.7, which is yet to materialise...

It is getting tiring to buy "premium" devices, only to see support for these abandoned right away. Especially when these devices are far from being perfect to start with.

This said, I still love the 7.7, but when you see the gain in performance of my Transformer prime from HC to ICS, and the difficulties the 7.7 has in dealing with TW with HC, you'd thing Samsung would have the decency to spend some resources on updating its flagship tablet...

    Online Petition

That was the way HTC was convinced to reunlock their bootloaders.

I now have started a petition to collect users demanding an ICS-update for Galaxy Tabs 10.1, Tab 8.9, Tab 7.7, Tab 7.0 Plus including source code now.

    The link is as followed:

In my opinion it makes a difference if only I will contact Samsung on my own or for e.g. CNET,heise or chip.de.if you know computer or tablet magazines you may contact them too so that they contact Samsung too.I have neither Facebook nor twitter account, but if anyone will contact Samsung via twitter our Facebook I think this is no bad idea

I am trying to show Samsung that more people are disappointed by the Samsung support.

Maybe they will recognize that good product support is as important as good specs of new hardware....

Doing nothing means to accept all and to change nothing I think.
I hope that we all together will make Samsung to think about better support.
The more people who express their disappointment maybe the more Samsung will realize this.

This is my opinion and I hope we will have an update soon.
