Hidden 3.1 Features/Changes

As well was the main documented features of 3.1 which can be found here, there are also many 'hidden changes. If you spot any post them here.

Browser:
Google Instant available in labs
Much more stable
HTML5 Videos can be played
'Downloads' open as a popup, not fullscreen

Gallery:
New crop interface when setting a wallpaper
Picasa albums can be 'pinned'/made available offline

Google Talk
New Emotion pictures in chat

Market:
Applications now show as being installed when browsing
Now remembers position when searching through apps

System:
Different colour text selector handle
Long-press accessibility options
Upload/Download Indicators on the WiFi status icon
If you have your Xoom 3g in Airplane mode with wifi on it remembers after reboot.
When you click System Updates, you can now click, 'Check now' for updates
New Debug icon in notification area
The appointment dismiss dialog box is now small and is not covered up by the notification balloon.
"Lock Screen Orientation" changed to "Auto-rotate Screen"
Now says "Shop" at top right of app drawer, instead of just an icon
Icon glows, either side of the current apps page in the drawer, are now fixed

Videos:
New "Videos" application

YouTube
Playback controls are now along the bottom and can be used while buffering
HQ option now renamed to HD

And if you scroll downpages of apps after searching the market, select an app to take a look then press back to go back to the search results it remembers where you'd scrolled to. ! Being taken back to the top used to really bug me!

How did i miss this?! Google Instant is now an option in labs!

Also, have we always been able to change the search from Google to Yahoo or Bing? Because there's an option now.

Yeah. The little market fixes are nice, but you still can't comment on or grade apps.

I noticed in settings under Accessibility there is a new setting for longpress action response time.

Does anyone know if you can use any Bluetooth keyboard now? Or is it still only the Motorola one?

I was able to use a Logitech BT KB even before the update.

EDIT: One thing that did change though after the update is the trackpad (mouse) on my Logitech KB now works. Very Cool!

Did this update include the widevine and HDCP that were going to be included in the pulled 4/28/11 update?

I would assume so for the Google Videos. I was able to watch in 720p over HDMI no problem. Escpecially since Google Videos don't work if you are rooted.

sorry but what is Google instant?

Also can anyone tell me where the movie rental app would be? Checked the market and its not there...

    I had someone help me with this yesterday, so its only right I help you.

    It works in any version of 3.0

    First in browser in the address bar type about:debug and hit enter

    It will appear to do nothing, but go to setting>debug>UA String and set it to desktop

    Now all sites will load desktop version only.

    If your browser force closes it will disablw it, so all you have to do it type about:debug in the address bar again and it will remember your settings so you won't need to go into the settings

    Disable Lockscreen!

    I just found out that you cab disable the lockscreen now. Setting>Location & Security>Configure Lockscreen>Off.
