Hi guys,
it's been a while we didnt released update, sorry for that.
the project is not dead, it's just that it's taking a lot of time and you know it's vacation time, even for devs :)
hopefully munjeni/derefas published great versions and the fact that we share source code help to share fixes between versions.

so here is the new version of the day, featuring Froyo 2.2
Link to download:
http://code.google.com/p/photon-android/downloads/list

What's new?
What's new versus 10/07/2011 version:
- gps.conf updated for fast GPS [from xda]
- telephony.db updated (fix some users not having 3G working)
- timeswitch workaround [by r0bin]
- g-sensor calibration fix [by r0bin]
- usb/ac cable detection fix [by r0bin]
- battery driver updated [by r0bin]
- headset sound fix (voice + mp3) [by r0bin]
- overclocking/underclocking capabilities [from ladios]
- light sensor fix [by cardsharing]
- usb stability [by cardsharing]
- headset audio glitch [by r0bin]
- camera snapshot fix [by cardsharing]
- power saving mode (better battery life) [by schlund]
- touchscreen calibration [by schlund]

Enjoy and as usual, feel free to report any bug or issue you might have on this new version!

Note for people updating their existing system:
/!\ Make sure to do a backup in any case (titanium backup seems to work well)
  • if you are using [10/07/2011 r134++] from google page:
Lucky you, you dont need to format your SD card or delete apps or whatever:
Just overwrite everything exept system.ext2, run haret as usual and you are good to go!

  • if you are using munjeni release:
you can try to do the same: overwrite everything exept system.ext2, run haret and see if it still works :D

  • if your android is not working well after partial update:
then you will have to do a full upgrade. use a backup program (titanium or other) and enjoy!

As far as I know some developers are working now on it.
Here you see all open issues.

for those which gprs and wifi is not working, have you placed the "update" folder at the root of your sdcard?

Thanks for r167!
All good, only i noticed high drain of battery here (up to 240mA instead ~150 earlier).
-----
Planned to fix audio in the headset (now there is no stereo)?

Tks for the great works
1. the battery works better
2. it seems that FM works sometimes, making sounds at least:D, and change to another channel automatic, hope it would be fixed soon.
3. headset is working, but Audio is mono
4. some software can not be installed, like TTS Voice library
5. Echo problem on the other side when phoning in or out, while it's normal on my side.

yeah, audio is on the list.
we're trying to enable audio routing: it should fix volume incall, echo incall, bluetooth audio, fm audio. maybe stereo headset but not sure.

battery drain on my phone is around ~160mA with 3G off / Wifi off, not 250mA...

thanks tzacapaca, i will check your links later.
i already found a cause of battery drain:
r150 "fix" is adding 50mA of drain in suspend mode... because it prevents the usb switch hardware to be deactivated on suspend mode.

i compiled a "test" kernel without this fix, it seems to run better now.
note: in this kernel, the batt computation is available in suspend mode, refreshed every 10 seconds.
you should be able to see the difference now :)
keep me updated if it solves batt consumption in suspend mode, for me it does!

(i get 10mA in suspend mode)
    2
that's my feedback about r167 + battery drain update

after 8 hours in stand-by, battery level lowered form 66% to 60% with a consumption in stand-by of 15mA. That's GREAT!

    3g data is OK
    wifi OK
    alarm in stand-by OK
    2
What I can say from HD2 sd builds.
Let the build "settle in". Reboot a few times and let it run for a day or two.
Most "glitches" and hickups will disapere and the phone runs smoother.
Also battery consumption will be better.
So dont judge to fast ;)
Hope it helps for us too.
