Has anyone had a chance to run the benchmark?
Here you go, my I9500:

Many thanks! I've been wondering where the A15 stood.

I had heard there was supposed to be a sort of "turbo" when running a single threaded task, is that not currently available or was it a baseless rumour?

My 9505 linpack multi thread 814  Nexus 4 150 max

antutu 25.500 + vs nexus 4 18.000

quadrant standard 12.500 + vs nexus 4 4000 +

impressive S4 the TOP :good:

All stock !!!

Exynos version for both, however performance will vary depending on the what devices the developers choose to optimize for.

Should note that the Exynos version wasn't available for me, it was either get the qualcomm version or wait for the Exynos version which may or may not be released here.

Exynos octa problems such as S3? Qualcoom is a guarantee in the world and also has LTE network in my opinion is better for developers qualcomm...

This is the I9505 over clocked Only 100mhz more. My wifi on, battery at 15% and this was throttling as I was playing a game not long before

Check the CPU Score :D 45,309

When it gets to 100% battery And rested I will try again

I am planning to buy S4

But I'm not sure which is better

Snapdragon 600
1.9 Ghz
Quad Core Krait 300.

or

Exynos5
1.6 Ghz Octal Core
Quad Core Cortex A15 / Quad Core A7

4g and installing roms is not important to me

Which is better in terms of performance?
Which is better for gaming, sound and camera?

well I know the GPU is alot newer on the S600... The CPU Stock vs stock the Exynos Gets ahead of it a little....

Sound And camera are too close to compare I really think you wont even be able to tell a difference here.

In regards to gaming and sound both devices will perform practically the same Id say, samsung tried really hard to get them equal

Wow, that rocks. And it's supposed that the S600 can't be overclocked because it's at maximum at 1.9ghz huh? :D

I can Over clock it to 2.1Ghz... And We are hoping to pull more out of it But we will have to wait for the legend Faux. :good:

Hey!

Can someone under clock the GT-i9505 to 1.7 GHz and do the benchmarks (essentially quadrant, antutu and 3d mark ice storm)? Only then we can fairly compare it with the HTC One.

I'm planning to buy one of these two phones, just want to see if the S4's CPU is better even when they are at the same clock speed.

Thanks!

Do an Antutu when you can please

Waiting on more development, apparently Faux stated something about the qualcomm libs which causes antutu to close down when you run a benchmark..

Geekbench and Antutu same problem...

Quadrant runs Fine check out my CPU score on Quadrant, Higher then the I9500 above me... Also one of the guys in Faux thread pulled a 14100 quadrant score with a cpu score of 48k Highest I have ever seen on any S4 variant to date.

I Just did a quadrant on 1.674Ghz and got a a 11893 first run, no clearing memory or anything.

Next frequency step I did is 1782ghz same thing as above First run gave me 12039

Does this show that the S4 and the One's CPUs are virtually the same (apart from the clock speeds)?

The One scores about 12000+ as well.

But Quadrant is very "strange", it can be quite inconsistent.

Hopefully after more development, benchmarks from other apps can be done.

I was actually looking forward to the 3D Mark scores, as I'm quite a gamer. :D

those benchmarks are really on the Qualcomm S600 version ( GT-I9505 )

Ok, for my I9500, I did benchmarks for both 1600 Mhz (which would run A15) and 600 Mhz (this would use A7, effectively 1200 Mhz)

    A15 1600 Mhz

    3DMark and 3DMark xtreme

    Antutu, Kraken, RiaBench Focus, SunSpider

    A7 600Mhz (effectively 1200 Mhz)

    Antutu, Kraken, RiaBench Focus, SunSpider

    To sum up:

    A15:
    Antutu:28086, Kraken:6392ms, RiaBench Focus:1468ms, SunSpider:652.4ms

    A7:
    Antutu:18272, Kraken:20113ms, RiaBench Focus:3171ms, SunSpider:1464.8ms

The Exynos 5 octa is a beast indeed :) Its A15 cores' numbers are a little less than half of what my Core 2 Duo 8500 reaches :D

The A7 is pretty good as well, If I'm not mistaken these numbers are just shy of what the SGS III exynos (A9 cores) can reach

So I believe you can easily cap your SGSIV to 600Mhz so it only uses the A7 cores (in order so save some battery), if you're not using heavy games or CPU intensive apps (heavy browsing, photo editing).

This may be the wrong place to post, but I'm a little uncertain as to how the 2-quad cores work. Do they, or will they ever work together for an 8-core experience or is it one or the other depending on demand, such as the 1.8 for games and intense processes and the 1.2 for those programs requiring less and thus increasing battery life?
Also, just a side note, my GS3 runs smooth at 2.1ghz (albeit a bit of a hit to battery life), that's a 30% jump over stock. If the Qual 1.9 can do the same, that's somewhere in the neighborhood of 2.5-2.7ghz!! That now makes my phone, my phone, mind you, more powerful than my desktop computer!

You can read the documentation on Samsung website.
There are 3 implementations can be used
    - "Quad-core switch": only two different states switching each other, quad-core A7 an quad-core A15
    - "Power-house": At the max point, all 8 cores are running. Redundant core can be closed if there is no task needing it.
    - "Paired core": Most likely implementation. Each A15 core is paired to an A7 core. The system will decide either to run depending on the task. So We can have A7-A7-A7-A7, A7-A15-A7-A7 to A15-A15-A15-A15. Each core has the independent clockrate,

Samsung said that all of them are available in Exynos Octa, but the implementation used depends on the firmware, and most likely the last one is used in GS4. The "power-house" option may be available in a new Chromebook?

What is it that you all love about benchmarks on phones? I don't get it as you wont see the difference in real life use. My missing something here that I should be excited about or is it just a geek thing ;)
