kernel

when I download the kernel I get a zip file, what should I do because extracting the file doesn't contain the ftf file what to do????

the kernel is a zip file with kernel.sin and loader.sin i do not know how you download it as a zip...However rename it to ftf and flash it.
{if the file isn't damaged}

this is a browser issue ,
on pc, opera downloads as a zip (that I need to rename as ftf) but chrome downloads it as a ftf ... :)
but it doesn't matter, technically, the ftf file is a zip with a non common extension : ftf that stands for FlashToolFile I suppose ...
So renaming does the trick ;)

I am trying to upgrade vrom V02 to V03 but the flashing aborts without error.

Everything is setup correctly, the phone is recognized, debugging on. but it starts flashing and fails a few seconds after, no error code or any info given.

Did anyone run into this problem and manage to fix it?

EDIT: wow, so I got mad at it and started pressing lock and home button together repeatedly, since the phone had gone into boot cycle and I did not want to wait for it to boot to turn it off, and it started flashing.... I did have flashtool opened and trying to detect the phone.

Hope this helps someone else.

    • If you want to remove the fake DT altogether, insert the following line in the /system/etc/hw_config.sh file:
      insmod /system/lib/modules/synaptics_i2c_rmi4_no_dt.ko
