Convert Factory Unlocked US to GPE?

Would it be possible to convert this:

to a GPE device that would receive GPE updates? Basically, it would be identical to the GPE version?

I would like to avoid buying from Play Store to get faster shipping, better financing options, and tax free!

Once we get S-Off you will be able to, but not till then. You can flash the GPE ROM though, just no updates directly from Google.

In light of the recent tweets, it seems the S-Off isn't that far off the radar. Do you think its worth saving $50 on tax to just get the factory unlocked from HTC and free 2-day prime shipping (verses 2-5 business days through google play)
