Hello,
i own a T-R42 (CPU RK3188, board version B351 V1.1)
I flashed a custom rom and since then i am no more able to reactivate the wifi
I tried many other custom roms and stock roms, but i have always the same behavior:

When from the settings i try to turn it on, it stays on for a few seconds ( no wireless network is shown ), and then it goes off

The last rom i flashed is this (from Geekbuying):
RK3188(T)_BOX_SZTENA_BX09_B351_AP6210_20130927.img

This is the logcat that is printed when i try to turn my wifi on:
(using command adb logcat on terminal emulator session)

D/WifiHW ( 368): Read wifi chip type OK ! wifi_chip_type = RK901
D/WifiHW ( 368): wifi_load_driver: DRIVER_MODULE_PATH = /system/lib/modules/rkwifi.ko, DRIVER_MODULE_ARG =
D/BluetoothAdapterService(1097373104)( 811): getState(): mAdapterProperties: com.android.bluetooth.btservice.AdapterProperties@ 4168aef0
D/BluetoothAdapterService(1097373104)( 811): getState(): mAdapterProperties: com.android.bluetooth.btservice.AdapterProperties@ 4168aef0
D/WifiService( 368): setWifiEnabled: true pid=870, uid=1000
D/AudioHardwareALSA( 109): Audio exiting sandby will open audio device
D/AudioHardwareALSA( 109): AudioStreamOutALSA::standby().....
D/WifiHW ( 368): wifi_load_driver: driver load failed
D/WifiHW ( 368): Unable to unload driver module "wlan": No such file or directory
E/WifiStateMachine( 368): Failed to load driver!
E/WifiStateMachine( 368): DriverFailedState

i checked that under system/lib/modules do exist these files:
rkwifi.ko
wlan.ko
both with owner 'root', group 'root' and permissions 644

(after flashing this stock rom i dont have more root permissions so now i cant overwrite or move them)

Could someone owner of T-R42 open a terminal emulator session and
send me what is printed by the command 'adb logcat' when he tries to turn on wifi?

Just to know which wifi_chip_type is reported by devices with working wifi...

Or perhaps can someone give me some hints on how to discover the right wifi drivers for my device?

I will be very grateful to who help me to reactivate my wifi... perhaps i will send him some prize.... ;)

Thanks!

Vicolodo, give this a try; reflash wasser 1.2.4 with all the images. Please do flash exactly as I request here:
boot - 720p.img
kernel 720p-t-r42-old.img
misc.img
recovery.img
system.img
parameter
RK3188loader(L)_V1.24.bin

Also use his RKAndroidTool v1.37 which included inside of his zip.

Edit: Also try this rom http://www.freaktab.com/showthread....-1-PCB-Stockrom-Rooted-OC-Kernel-and-more-gnm!

Thank you... i will try...
but i cannot do the update via RKAndroidTool v1.37, because my device is not yet seen by my pc
i can do the update via stock recovery, building the update.zip

Let install CWM first so you can actuall flash zip file easily and accurately, also another benefit is you can erase nano in case of corruption and possible resolved your pc->device issue!

Try the "Restore" button. It works for me.

You should rename the kernel and boot img files when you choose them to boot.img and kernel.img - this way the flash tool will pick them up automatically - seems to work better for me.....
