The a2sd script does not amalgamate the 2 partitions for accounting and only ever shows 148 in the data partition, it does work though.
Discinfo shows the usage of each patrition.
I am up to 100mb in the data and 1200mb in the sdext partition.

Just installed this on my old desire (now used by my little son), it works just perfectly. He loves his own phone.
For camera, I've installed snap camera, and for playback, MX player. It all works nicely.
Even did a calling test, but the phone woke all right just after a few seconds, so there was no problem answering the call.

Thanks for your hard work, it's unbelievable to see this thing coming out with android 2.1 to run 4.4 this smooth!

Help, can't install TWRP, CWM already installed. Also GParted wouldn't let me make more than one primary partition, and the FAT32 partition would only create as a Primary!

Try and get 4ext installed and follow the guide in the Desire forum for partitioning.
Always worked for me, still using that method on my sensation.

Hi spezi77, Hi anyone,
I've got a quick question. Can I install your ROM on HTC Desire with S-ON? In other threads I read that most ROMs require to be S-OFF. I have 4ext recovery installed, the ext-sd is partitioned, SuperSU installed and I have the following baseband version installed. I'm currently on Android 2.2 Stock HTC ROM.

c:\adb>fastboot getvar all
< waiting for device >
(bootloader) version: 0.5
(bootloader) version-bootloader: 1.03.0003
(bootloader) version-baseband: 5.11.05.27
(bootloader) version-cpld: None
(bootloader) version-microp: 031d
(bootloader) version-main: 2.35.0.0
(bootloader) serialno: xxx
(bootloader) imei: xxx
(bootloader) product: bravo
(bootloader) platform: HBOOT-8x50
(bootloader) modelid: PB9920000
(bootloader) cidnum: HTC__102
(bootloader) battery-status: good
(bootloader) battery-voltage: 4157mV
(bootloader) partition-layout: Generic
(bootloader) security: on
(bootloader) build-mode: SHIP
(bootloader) boot-mode: FASTBOOT
(bootloader) commitno-bootloader: 229eea55
(bootloader) hbootpreupdate: 11
all: Done!
finished. total time: 0.062s

I know from my HTC One M8 running on ARHD custom ROM, that firmware (baseband, radio) must match ROM, otherwise you're in trouble. Any information is highly appreciated!

Cheers & Thanks,
Mischa

Edit: I could successfully install this ROM. I'm using 4ext as recovery and portioned ext-sd as described. WiFi and phone are working, so I assume that my firmware matches this ROM and I can use it with S-ON. The hardware is a bit old, and some apps (e.g. PayBack) crash sometimes or let the device reboot. Anyway, great to have Android 4.4.4 on this device. Thanks!

Don't suppose anyone is still in this thread. I have partitioned my sd card and flashed rom, installed a2sd in terminal then flashed gapps. when i try to update Google Play Services it tells me I have insufficient storage space. If i use the apk from APK mirror it updates but then I get the same storage error when I try to install anything else e.g. Hangouts. Any idea what I could be doing incorrectly?

microG GmsCore or Delta Gapps

All you're doing well, except that you are updating Google applications that are getting bigger and bigger and they must be on the system partition.

You try microG GmsCore or [URL="http://xdaforums.com/showpost.php?p=58047099"]Delta Gapps[/URL] and write if this helps.

    • Open up Terminal Emulator, type in 'su' and 'a2sd install ' (chose: Y/N/N)
    • Boot into recovery and flash latest slim Gapps

    CHANGELOG:
    =====================================
    =====================================

    - Sync with omnirom repo (2014/07/19)
    - Fixed "Got stuck at boot/splash screen" by
    - using a new kernel version ("Utopian") which:
    -- is closer again to the Evervolv kernel

    - Fixed 'long press home key' to bring up the recent apps
    - Fixed Notification/Battery LED support
    - Fixed battery draining with Google services framework 5
    - Baked in chainfire's SuperSU v2.01 (no more extra flashing required)

    -- Default CPU gov is SmartassH3 which is said to offer a great balance between performance and battery life

    CURRENTLY NOT WORKING:
    ==============================

    • Video recording (currently present in all 4.x ROMs for HTC Desire; Just use Videocam Illusion (audio quality at 44.1KHz!))
    • Screen recording (writes zero KB file)
    • OpenVPN (kernel issue: cannot acquire tun interface socket)
    • SELinux (disabled by intention)

    ART support:
    The most recent release also includes ART. Please be warned that ART is still considered to be an "experimental mode". Only few apps support it. ART is currently not tested by me and may lead to crashes or even to data loss. Please enable ART only if you know what you are doing and why you are doing this.

    Todo list:
    ==============================
    • Add Trackball wake option
    • Investigate why hardware keys are not illuminated when you push them

    Manifest: https://github.com/spezi77/omnirom
    Kernel: https://github.com/spezi77/android_kernel_htc_qsd8k/tree/utopian

    You may want to compile it yourself:
    =============================
    To initialize your local repository use this command:
    Code:
    repo init -u git://github.com/spezi77/omnirom.git -b android-4.4
    Then to sync up:
    Code:
    repo sync
    Then to build:
    Code:
     cd into repo folder; . build/envsetup.sh; brunch bravo

    Greetings to all OmniROM geeks!
    Today we are leapfrogging to Android 4.4.4! This is the first custom rom for HTC Desire based on the brand new KTU84P release.
    Therein Google addresses some OpenSSL items.

    Have a nice day!
    :cool:

    Thanks Spezi77 for this awesome ROM that I couldn't think of changing since you created this thread!
    Great battery performance! I dare say, the best among kitkat roms for desire!

    This has been my fav one while my desire was still my active device. And now, it is time to retire my best phone and move on...
    I'll still roam around this forum to check out cool stuff happening here, and hopefully contribute some more...

    Check out the new version available with lots of improvements (see post #1).
