For those wondering how we know which is newer, let's look at the firmware names. The last 3 letters are really the important part, as far as when it was released
L = 2012
G= July
1= Build number this month
So, knowing this we know that LH9 is 2012 August Build 9. Make sense now?

As a side note, you have to be registered with sammobile to dl from their site. It is free to join, though.

It is an SGH-I747 (well that's what the box says) but Virgin Canada use Bell towers, so I would've thought it would be a SGH-I747M.
To avoid re-inventing the wheel, if you need root, just use the other post which includes all stock ROM's which already have root injected.

OK. There so many SGH-I747M in Canada. go to System settings ->About Device there you will find model number. There is any chance you got carrier letter code : in example Telus have TLS, Rogers have RWC.
So there i got just two left BWA and BWC. Do you know witch it is??

So here is a big noob question. Basically you extract the zip file you download from the OP and then use ODIN to flash the md5 file by selecting PDA button? Is flashing this the same as the root injected .tar files? Just wanted to check before I did this.

I was on AT&T I747, CM10 and needed to get back to stock. Did reset/wipe, then cache, then dalvik, from CWMTouch. Then I flashed in Odin, everything went perfectly. But then the phone got stuck at the Samsung logo when rebooting. Had to go back into stock recovery and do another wipe/reset, then cache, and then it booted normally.
