8.9 also needs a update!!!

But i think if samsung would release it then it will take forever!

Even the ics update after 1 year of the official ics laynch we finaly got it

Samsung is to slow with there updates!!!

Probably not worth much but signed any way.

Supported Samsung since just about the beginning in terms of modern day mobile devices (Galaxy i9000 & Galaxy tab 10.1 P7500). Samsung dropped both of those in terms of support. I9000 I get but the Galaxy Tab I don't. Due to this I recently bought a Nexus 7. As much as I like Samsung products (I own TV's, Home Theater systems, monitors) with my experience of this so far I probably won't get another Samsung product unless it is part of the Nexus range.

Have to agree battery is shocking with latest update. My Nexus 7, with WIFI off, lasts days before a charge if I don't use it. The Galaxy tab lasts a day maybe two if not used with WIFI and 3g off. Battery when I actually use it is fine but Standby time seriously sucks. Seems every time I want to use it it is flat.

i9000 is quite not the same. It had updates ranging from 2.1 through 2.2, 2.3, 2.3.3, 2.3.4, 2.3.5 up to 2.3.6, (not to mention it's capable of running JB with no problem) during 2 years. The tab had just one update from 3.2 to 4.0.4 and the update was a failure, but what I don't understand is that a newer tab series (G Tab 2) running OMAP CPU which is the same or worse than Tegra 2 gets the update. There are also a lot of other devices that run JB (or got the update, like TF101) even if they have worse specs than the Tab. Thus I specified whether Samsung would release an update to JB OR an update fixing all the bugs that the ICS update brought.

Yeah, same here. My next phone and tablet won't be from Samsung, not a chance.

    One may say it's a little early but I had started a petiton to Samsung to provide an update to our Galaxy Tab, either to JB or to ICS but with proper user experience and by that I mean better battery life, better reception and fixing every bug that the recent update brought. Here's the petition text:

    " As we all know, Samsung didn't include the Galaxy Tab in it's Jellybean update roadmap. I think that's quite unfair, because there are a lot of slower devices, even by Samsung, that got their update (and have similar market age). Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 had it's market debut on may 2011, so it's a 1,5 year device. In mobile world one would say it's old, but independent developers shown that it's capable of doing a lot of things that newer devices are capable of. One of such features is the ability to run Android Jellybean (4.1). Now we all know that it's easy to argue that Android Jellybean with Touchwiz UX won't give a proper user experience (it won't be as fast as it should be). I'd ask, why not let the user choose? As far as I know, the American version of Galaxy Tab 10.1 came without TouchWiz preinstalled, and no one complained (the update with TW was given but that's not the case here). Now part of this petition is to try to make Samsung develop an update for our Tab with newer version of Android BUT I know it is hardly possible (mainly because of money involved - they prefer to sell a newer model). So I'm also asking Samsung to fix that crappy update they had given (the ICS one). I would like them to know that I'm NOT GETTING PROPER USER EXPERIENCE (crappy battery life, low wifi & 3G signal, etc.) with that update and it's not because of old hardware and such. It's because they didn't work hard enough. I would be happy if you sign the petition, even if you don't own the Galaxy Tab 10.1 because it is important for the community. Thank you!"
