as an Atrix owner... let me tell you that signing a petition will not do anything. name the last successful bootloader unlock petition.

Last successful petition? One year ago. After Sensation came with locked bootloader.
Just keep pushing it guys, with enough pressure they'll do it. Mass returns would be the best thing. Also, try to organise returns on some particular day, and announce it on their pages. Then numbers will be a lot higher and more proving the point. Good luck.

Signed. I was an Atrix owner so I know how bad it gets without a bootloader unlock. I hope they unlock it soon I can't even return the phone since I did an exchange from a Nokia Lumia 900.

Also coming from the Atrix here... TBH it seemed to me like the leak that had the unlockable bootloader probably came from Motorola because of the bad PR. Of course the great devs working on the Atrix had to find it but a leak that can be unlocked (but never went official) just seems fishy to me. xD

I am an idiot for buying this phone on an impulse without knowing what locked bootloader meant.
I will return the phone tomorrow. It cost me 35 dollars but I am not going to use Android without root.

At least wait the 30 days out.
Also when you return it, only give them the phone. The charger / cable / box / manual has some resale value.

Only if you exchange it for the same device. Not if you return it or exchange it for something different.

See, I'm willing to wait more than my 30 day return window for either HTC to release their unlock on htcdev, or for the guys here to figure one out. This phone is so good even without having an unlocked bootloader in root that I honestly don't mind..
But I do miss Titanium Backup. That's probably what I miss the most from having root. I never did much with it other than flashing CM, but Sense 4 is pretty dang nice.

Obviously if someone has no interest in rooting i'll sell it to em all day long. The people who ask me about it, i tell them whats going on and recommend something else

ATT tech support doesnt even know what bootloader is. Talked 4 representatives before they linked me directly to an HTC tech rep to be able speak the same damn language
HTC rep had a Bionic with ICS on it and understood my frustration, documented my name, phone number, and email address and promised to keep me updated with what is happening. He also documented the Error Number (160) and Error Message (MID Error) to talk to his supervisors about. GGHTC-Rep. However, he said HTC is not allowed to talk about the phone till official launch through AT&T. I even tossed in XDA Developers and he said he was raised on this website, told him go look up the HTC One X forum and see the complaints. He said he would look into it and show it to his supervisors also.
Everyone interested please do the same. I think this way it will catch HTC's eye or at least some people who understand what the hell we are talking about. Posting on AT&T facebook page isnt going to do **** in my opinion. If you noticed they are not even acknowledging anyone posting about locked bootloaders on the HTC One X.5I hope this is the case. You did great things with the Atrix without an unlocked bootloader, but I don't know if I could go back to those days again.

I have faith in HTC to stick to their promise. We'll be unlocked soon enough. If it takes two months, I'll try my best to cook up a solid P-ROM for AT&T users in the meantime.4

Comment on EVERYTHING demanding the bootloader be allowed to be unlocked.
