how do i know which zip to download not sure what all the letters mean.

also is it just as simple as installing the zip in CWM? (i don't usually mess around with kernels)

*cappy running icssgs

For the letters in the suffix:
c = Captivate (I think)
bm = big memory (you get more RAM at the expense of 720p video recording)
s = Slim ICS

I think that might be a hardware issue rather than the kernel or the rom.... and to answer your question I am on the latest semaphore and slim and don't have any ghost button activation issues

Hmmm, maybe I'll try a reflash of the rom and then semaphore again and see if it ceases

I had a problem updating from AOKP build 30 to AOKP 32 with this kernel. Kept saying my build.prop was wrong. I switched to Glitch v6 and was able to flash AOKP 32 just fine.

Yeah, that's the Semaphore issue. CM9 update also says that my phone is not I897 though build.prop is correct. Removing an assert from updating script helps as well as changing the kernel.

Have anyone managed to use the usb tethering?

I cant make it work.

I'm using semaphore 1.0

thanks

You need to make sure you have the netfilter enabled in the semaphore app. May need to close the semaphore app and reopen it and check it again or atleast confirm the check stuck.

See first post:
- S20enable_netfilter (load netfilter modules for firewall or WiFi, USB tethering)

Also I've never used USB tethering but I know when I first started using Semaphore back in the Saurom days I overlooked this checkbox.

Wireless tether hot spot works great for me

The broken stuff is video playback and recording. This version works fine on Slim but there is a patch to also work on other roms.

Yes, it's different. LiveOC also overclocks bus and all frequencies. Semaphore app selects liveoc to 110, 114 and 120%. Please note that 1200 with liveoc maybe not so stable as the old 1200 OC.

I didn't notice that and I don't know why transfers are slow. If you know which kernels resolved this please name them. Maybe I can't find the fix in source.

this isnt for the captivate, its for the i9000 and it does fix the USB TRANSER RATE BUG (this bug drives me nuts)... but it might help as the source is there its Devils Kernel...maybe u can get in touch with him, http://xdaforums.com/showthread.php?t=1445214

Everything seemed to be working fine until I started playing Pandora and my phone kept rebooting. Other music apps seem to work fine but after a few songs on Pandora it will reboot. Anybody else have this issue? Never had any issues with Pandora before this. I'm on icssgs semaphore 1.0.0c and not over clocking at all.

I have similar problem. Pandora will play one song then stops, but no reboots

Someone asked about a compass recently.
There is really an issue with the compass on Semaphore. I have tested all 3 kernels for Captivate today and the compass works well on CM9 and Glitch kernels. Hopefully it will be fixed in one of the next versions, very good kernel anyway.

This is a kernel based on the pawitp's one and it works for Android 4.0.x ICS ROMs.

    Features

    - LiveOC
    - Custom Voltage
    - Voodoo Sound (implemented by pawitp)
    - BLN
    - 373.5MB - 398.7MB available RAM
    - Compiled with Linaro 4.7.1
    - O3 optimization
    - Semaphore Script Manager 0.75
    - Auto brightness driver
    - Touch Wake
    - Vibration intensity
    - Deep Idle
    - USB host driver
    - Governor ondemand (default)
    - ondemand: sampling_down_factor tunable by momentum, smooth_ui
    - Governor conservative (module)
    - Governor smartassV2 (module)
    - Noop I/O scheduler (default)
    - Deadline I/O Scheduler (module)
    - Simple I/O Scheduler (module)
    - Netfilter (iptables) as modules
    - CIFS as module
    - TUN as module
    - Logcat disabled (as module only)
    - Standard network packet scheduler
    - Kernel log buffer size 4KB (from 128KB)
    - Reduced debug info
    - TinyRCU
    - WiFi PM_MAX when suspend
    - /system/etc/init.d directory creation if not exist

In order to load various modules of the kernel and enable or disable features use HM.Carbide's Semaphore Script Manager application. It automatically copies and runs the respective scripts from /res/scripts to /system/etc/init.d directory. The scripts:

    - S05enable_oc_0800 (disable overclocking - caps max freq to 800Mhz)
    - S05enable_oc_1000_default (disable overclocking)
    - S05enable_oc_1100 (enable overclocking - max freq 1100MHz)
    - S05enable_oc_1140 (enable overclocking - max freq 1140MHz)
    - S05enable_oc_1200 (enable overclocking - max freq 1200MHz)
    - S10enable_gov_conservative (load and enable conservative governor module)
    - S10enable_gov_ondemand_default (enable ondemand governor)
    - S10enable_gov_smartassV2 (load and enable conservative smartassV2 module)
    - S15enable_sched_deadline (load and enable the deadline I/O scheduler module)
    - S15enable_sched_noop_default (enable noop scheduler)
    - S15enable_sched_sio (enable and load SIO scheduler module)
    - S20enable_netfilter (load netfilter modules for firewall or WiFi, USB tethering)
    - S30enable_logger (enable logging)
    - S35enable_tun (load tun module)
    - S40enable_cifs (load cifs module)

Custom Voltage may be configured with Voltage control or similar applications.

    Change log

    1.2.6c (11/07/2012)
    - USB mass storage disable write speed cache support (thanks kasper_h, DerTeufel1980 for the hint)
    - CWM: Allow key to repeat on hold (thanks to FaultException, koush). Works for volume up, down and touch key menu (as down)
    - CWM: fix selection bar color when battery < 21%
    - CWM: upstream sync (thanks to koush) *
    - initramfs sync some changes with CM9 (adb works in root by default in recovery)
    - compiled with linaro 4.7.1 201206

Normal versions (for CM9 or ROMs without hugemem configuration)
    1.2.6c
    - 373.5MB - 385.7MB

For Slim ROM or patched ROMs with hugemem configuration
    1.2.6sc
    - 386.5MB - 398.7MB

    * Please note that due to changes in nandroid backup/restore, previous versions of Semaphore can't restore backups from version >= 1.2.6. To be on the safe side, please renew your backups.

    1.2.5c (20/06/2012)
    - rebased to 3.0.17 (thanks to trailblazerz11 and eugene373 for their github)

    - Bootloop detection (if no normal boot is detected the phone will be forced to recovery in next boot) *
    - bugfix: enabling Wi-Fi hotspot twice (copy the new netfilter script in order this to work by disabling and then enabling again netfilter in Semaphore app)
    - creation of /system/lib/modules if does not exist

    * It doesn't mean that this will necessarily resolve the known bootloop issue, but it may help on bootloops because of bad OC/UV etc.

Normal versions (for CM9 or ROMs without hugemem configuration)
    1.2.5c
    - 373.5MB - 385.7MB

    - Semaphore Script Manager application 0.75 (thanks to HM.Carbide)
    - Fast Charge support (thanks to Chad Froebe) implemented as module **
    - L4 (100MHz) int volt 1100mV (as GB)

For Slim ROM or patched ROMs with hugemem configuration
    1.2.1sc
    - 387.2MB - 399.4MB

    * Needs reboot to takes effect. If the phone shuts down needs additional reboot.
** Enables support for fast charge. It does not enable the feature.
