Reporting that it doesn't work. After flashing in recovery and booting up system Contacts FCs, and there are no Contacts, Dialer Messages and other modified apps, they just disappear

Odex or deodex ROM?
And try to go in settings/app and clean data and cache of all those apps.

What's the problem, you asked for a help with settings.apk.
I'm guessing you are having problems with editing settings/apps?, right?

You must decompile apk and edit smali files to get black/dark backgrounds and white fonts.

Don't know for Z1 but I'm guessing it's similar to XS so you shouldn't have any trouble to find those files (you'll recognize them)

Also...I would really like to help but I just can't find free time.
I will MOD and EDIT framework and few apps next month but for now I wish you all the best and can't wait to see our Z1 in dark mod - it will look awesome

it dosen't work? I test it on Stock and Monx Firmware .257

By me works perfekt.

@funky No i have a probem with SemcPhone.apk. I can recompile this apk but don't compile.
when i nothing change too.
I recompile EDIT nothing and Compile.... same mistake.. I google this problem and some people have this mistake. But no solutuin

Wrecked my Z1. Only contacts worked with the dark skin. Messages app disappeared and ended up with no network signal. Thank the gods for dual recovery. Don't bother trying this on Z1 is my advice

Its not like IT will hurt, and I was waiting for the mod like this since i Got my z1, so big thank you for OP, but IT Just didnt work for me

could anyone that Got IT working post what exactly they did?

Now i Split it in 3 Zips.

Dark Task Manager
Dark Settings
Dark Sms

You can flash every App individual.

I Upload now the Original white apks for Reflash when you don't make a Backup
