kernel is there with all the drivers...

unfortunately, this will not help on the x10

this would be something to hang onto for the future though.

and it's over 500mb decompressed

can't flash kernels until the bootloader is cracked.

however, the kernel modules are built for completely different hardware.

Have you built this? It's unusual because...

Xperia_PLAY_3.0.A.2.181_182.tar.bz2 11 KB Mar 10, 2011 Opensource

11kb? LOL - I'm downloading 106MB...

this sounds like the all file without dump. i can`t figure how we can explore this files:confused:

maybe you could extract something from?

edit: ****!!! can`t see a thing lol

source for ARC - NEO & PLAY

Thanks for quick reply, I can't download to my phone, only comp. Maybe?

It's sources not compiled so putting it on your phone is pointless unless your planning on moving it to your computer and building it as firmware to be loaded after compilation / modification..

On another note, I found this of interest;

root@xda:~/bin/Xperia_Play_3.0.A.2.181_182/kernel# ls
arch COPYING debian firmware init kernel Makefile README samples sound virt
block CREDITS Documentation fs ipc lib mm README_SonyEricsson scripts tools
chromeos crypto drivers include Kbuild MAINTAINERS net REPORTING-BUGS security usr

Looking into the debian directory there is a changelog which contains the following;

linux (2.6.32-1.1) unstable; urgency=low

* Initial Debian packaging (headers only)

-- Linux Build <linux.build@codeaurora.org> Tue, 15 Jun 2010 15:05:50 -0600

LOL - unstable kernel.. very nice SE... very nice!

ALSO...

Configuration files can be found in arch/arm/configs.

Xperia PLAY => semc_zeus_defconfig
Xperia arc => semc_anzu_defconfig
Xperia neo => semc_hallon_defconfig

...

thats really interesting... so given that the system dump for arc was available and the sources in hand will it be possible for the devs to build the latest kernel and ramdisk for this?
