how to enable overscroll glow on this ROM . . .
i use this ROM and this is great . . .:)

---------- Post added at 04:59 AM ---------- Previous post was at 04:54 AM ----------

thanks before
and i have some question
how to enable overscroll glow onthis ROM

Just having a problem with the a2sd stuf.
first things first.

I created a partition as told 500+ Mb formated as told and even set the clustersize. ( ext2 and 4 kb and set as primary )
After flashing:
Gio gives a message that the sd card is damaged ( it's not ).
Then he ask me to format the disk ****Must i do that, and can i do that without losing the rest of my data on the sd?

Then i give the commandline for a2sd
After its finished, the last line says that my sd card is not mounted??????
And does not reboot.

After a manual reboot, its stil the same.
Stil giving damaged sd card.
And a2sd keeps crashing.

Must i give in the notification of gio and do a format?
Or is there something else wrong?

Ok, problem fixt.

Gio corupted both partitions.
Did a recovery with the partitiontools
And tried it again.
Now it works.

Next problem,
I can not set the system file as r/w
And in usb mode, my laptop don's see the sd cart
Also the media scan is darn slow after boot.
And in recoverymode, he don't see any sdcard at all
I tried that to gain full root.
But thats not working either.

Hello.

Do you know any method or ROM, to unlock recording 640x480 30 or 24 fps video on Samsung Galaxy Gio? (I've seen that it is possible with Galaxy Ace, and I've read that the hardware of Gio and Ace are almost the same.)

Thank you for any ideas, tips, links.

Yeah I've been searching for this too
Where I can find resource to do that in Ace, anyway?

I'm confused about where to get the files to flash using Odin multiple file method. I downloaded the full firmware but the individual files I do not see. I am using a carrier that cannot use the phone/modem and need to eliminate it from the flash, can someone please help me.

Thanks

Where do i get these?

OPS = GIO_v1.0.ops
Boot = APBOOT_S5660XXKPA_CL258140_REV03_user_low_true.tar.md5
Phone = MODEM_S5660XXKP7_CL258140_REV03.tar.md5
PDA = PDA_GIOPRO_v1.1_CL258140_REV03.tar.md5
CSC = GT-S5660-csc-SERKP4.tar.md5

Will that allow me to eliminate the modem/phone file?

I'm sorry I don't understand how to do it. When I load the 2 files it isn't giving me the option to load individual files, it only loads the tar file in one package option.

it's correct. that file and the .ops file, then just flash.

the ops. file is part of the flash.
I don't think you can flash the one without the other.

btw is there al ready a solution on the lockscreen problem?

Normaly if you "close" your droid, you can open it with the slider.
With this rom if you touch the left screenbutton it already opens.
Not very cool when it happends by accident.

This is my first crack at this so I have no idea my friend. There is a way to extract the files and not use the modem, look here:

http://xdaforums.com/showthread.php?t=1209425&page=90

The problem is I really don't understand what they are talking about! Does anyone know, if I flash and do use the modem am I going to have connection issues wth Bel Mobility in Canada?

I think you can just open the tar file and delete the file you dont need in it... Go see in the S5660 S5660M partition maping thread we talked of this matter...

Note: I haven't tested Simplygio+ on the 5660M.

If your phone is stock, you can flash directly to that ROM if you so please. Remove the AMSS, arm11boot, mibib, oemsbl, qcsbl from the tar file so that you keep those partitions on your phone stock. (AMSS is your modem firmware, the others are lower level bootloaders that you don't want to mess up.) Depending on the ROM and what you've already flashed, you may opt to skip recovery.img and boot.img as well.

GT-S5660M_MUGK3_stock_rooted_ROM_v1.tar was an experimental upload that didn't flash with Odin due to an incorrect system partition file name. (I made this before I got Odin working on one of my computers) You would have to extract, rename and retar the files to flash.

v2 solves that and is flashable as is.

Goodbye,

Darkshado

Help

I'm new to android.. I just flashed my Gio to Giopro 1.3.. I have a couple of questions..

1. I tried moving Dalvik Cache to sd-Ext but an error pops up saying "not enough space".. and how important is it to move the dalvik cache to sd-ext? Btw I have a 2gb card with 400 mb of Ext partition, cluster size 4kb..

2. I want the default music app for gio.. does anybody have the deodexed music.apk? and what's the procedure to get the default music player back with that apk?

Thanks..

I don't use the extra partition, and don't need it.
In the way i use the Gio, it has nothing to ad and it's a waste of space.
But that's my opinion.

@ your other question with the musicplayer, can't help you with that.
Maybe something on the market?

This rom kills apps too aggressively, how to change it's behavior of killing apps? It never allocates beyond 210mb ram, when it does, it kills my launcher...

I guess this is not ROM related, do you have any auto killer installed, if so configure it.

Didn't have that problem before using this one and I hadn't install any auto killer that time... now I fixed it by changing local.prop and install a auto killer to optimize myself...

To fix this problem go search for home screen redraw in this forum...

    I have some questions:
    . Does this ROM support swap partition? With the GIO we'll need this feature.
    . Do I need to backup my SD card as this is the first time I use darktremor and from the look of thing I need to partition my SD card right? Can you elaborate on how to use this feature?

    Thanks.

    it not support swap yet.
    for using a2sd darktremor you need to make partition on your sdcard first before flashing, after you finish flashing just run a2sd cachesdreset from adb.
    2
    @rahulmaxi01: You did it wrong so you're still on the old ROM, try to redo the instruction to the letters and if still fail search for guides on using Odin.

    @maconcasper: If you don't wanna use adb and want to use terminal emulator like me this is how I did it:
    . Follow Rachmat3's instruction on partitioning your SD card.
    . Follow the flash guide to step 4, before step 5 that you don't understand.
    . After your phone booted, get into market and install android terminal emulator.
    . Start android terminal emulator
    . Type in "su", allow it elevates
    . Type in "a2sd cachesdreset", you should see a bunch of text scrolling and your phone restarting with a2sd enabled. You might want to use the other command.

    If you did it wrong, the phone might get into a boot loop, just flash it again and remember to follow the instructions by words.

    @mnaveed: You haven't enabled a2sd with "a2sd cachesdreset" so it crashes, read the instructions by Rachmat3 (using adb) or mine (using terminal emulator) again
