Ok, couldn't resist it again...
This will still show empty bars when connected, but it won't drop connections, plus it's connecting really fast. On reboots I have wifi on before the sim card gets unlocked.

P.S. This is an add-on patch, you still need the previous modifications I indicated.
Cheers. WiFi patch working well. Very fast and stable connection now.
A few more findings:
Voice search not working.
Music Player not playing my music.
Voice recorder not working. Says 'Please insert SD card'.
Ringtone and notification volumes seem quiet even at full volume.
GPS icon not showing when using sat-nav (Google or Co-Pilot) so not even attempting a lock I think.

Old gingerbread kernel, optimized with some of the new driver libraries that will be in ICS. That's about it.

wifi fixed but you must add your network manual.
i mean,
Name of your network and password then add. then it works good..
if i choose my network from results and give password it doesnt connect.
any info why it doesnt connect direct ?

Hey prox, did you fix WiFi with m-deejay's kernel?? I'm looking to switch to this ROM since mic. doesn't work in Affinity. Should i download v0.3 or wait for the next version??

Connecting from search results is working fine here. Could be the new kernel or any other changes you did?

Ok guys,
I haven't had much time, some of you might have noticed. But I didn't resist trying this out, so, here's my small contribution, mostly directed at proxuser:
Wifi fix for proxuser, "regular" users do not try this stuff:
- modified ramdisk image to use pre-ics wpa_supplicant (I attach a modified quattro kernel ready to use): View attachment kernel-onev.zip
- Copy /system/etc/wifi/wpa_supplicant.conf from Endy to your rom
- Copy /system/bin/wpa_supplicant from Endy to your rom
- Change build.prop entries "wlan0" to "eth0", because this is the interface the quattro kernel sets up
This will get you wifi working, I have it now in front of me. A few quircks though:
- Does not measure incoming RSSI. meaning the wifi indicator will show always empty (like when the "connected to null" thing happens in sense 3.5
- Gave me a hard time connecting the first time, but seems stable now. But I haven't tried it for that long.
