read some last 2-3 pages. Please don't post questions here. Why people don't understand this...????

ok man my fault (Q&A CM7 thread is more appropriate for this kind of questions) :)

The dubt came when I've read that ppl flash v7 before installing MIUI Testkey2.0... and because MIUI (by fuss &co.) is based on CM7 makes my a little confused...

BTW sorry :)

that's all, cheers :)

hey guys/Doom is this v7 ramdisk compatible with cm7?

In short, can I flash this v7 on a stable and daily used cm7?

cheers :)

I think it is a good question to be asked.i hope Doom can answer cause this will solve lot of bugs in MIUI especially the unknown baseband and wifi.
Will be great if they make kernel with modified ramdisk that work for MIUI.

Thanx

PM doom. I am sure he would make a stable kernel for MIUI. Before him OC was very unstable, now most noobs are OCing their GPU and CPU. I am a fan!!:D

I have a question, can this UC-Kernel v7 be installed in DDKP2 (2.3.6) Indian ROM without CF-Root, or this will automatically Root my phone..... ??

It will root your phone.

UC is using Amit's universal CWM

---------- Post added at 04:24 PM ---------- Previous post was at 04:23 PM ----------

It can be installed on DDKP2.

Hi, my i9003 is currently on xxkpq, already had cf-root by amit and cRom poseidon. So if I want to flash this kernel, will I have to flash the stock xxkpq again or just keep my i9003 at this cRom poseidon and flash the UC kernel :-/

@doomlord, I noticed that the touch button lights flicker when unlocking the phone. Is this functionality because of UC kernel? Can the same code be used somehow to implement BLN?

@All who ask about BLN

I think it is possible already... If you use tasker, you can set a Profile to make the lights flicker.

It's in Alert > Set Light under the actions area. Though you will have to do some scripting yourself like:

Profile: When there is Message Recieved + Phone is Silent
Actions:

1. Set Light = 1
2. Wait = 50ms
3. Set Light = 0
4. Wait = 50ms
5. Set Light = 1
6. Wait = 50ms
7. Set Light = 0

etc...

Or is it something else that BLN needs that I dont know about?

You're right in the way that it could be done, but, BLN is an app which controls the leds and the support code should be built into the kernel. I think that's what's everyone's asking about.

Wow...! Finally u guys have done it. Just a small querry. That what frequency range are there in this OC kernel?

Edit: tried oc version. And yes problem with vdo & audio. But I must tell u guys @ 1.2 ghz phone is super duper fast. Also I saw that one more frequency range is added i.e. 200 mhz. So now total freuency range are like this

200 mhz
300 mhz
600 mhz
800 mhz
1200 mhz

It would be great if u guys manage to add one more frequency range I.e 1000 mhz so it will eliminate need of providing two saperate kernel i.e OC & non OC.
Because many people concern about battery & they will want 200 mhz range also with max only 1 ghz range.

Re-run quadrant. It happened with me too. Dont know the reason.

And use performance governor if you want to do benchmark testing.

I tried all governors but quadrant still not work, but it is not essential, video does not work is more important, or only I have such a bug??

Its confirmed that when i set a profile in set cpu like following then phone goes in deeeeeeeep sleep mode (means screen not waken up but also not even touch button glows). Phone acts like complete dead. I have to restart phone.
I dont given imp to benchmark so i have not tested it.

Profile -When screen off
max - 200 mhz
min - 200 mhz
governer - smartassv2
i/o scheduler - sio
kernel - latest v08 kernel with OC at 1.2 ghz

It looks like, it is high time to shift to ics. ;)

Ok, guys. we will start working on porting our kernel for other rom. :)

    @ UC team

Guys I know that u are working with alot of hard work for making stock kernel much much better with good features. But except vurrut no one is specifically creating kerels for AOSP roms. Now a days no one is using (or very few people are using it) cm7 or GB based miui roms. Everyone is excited about ICS based Dhiru's cm9 rom. But he is also alone working on it & he is struggling alot to make it a daily usable rom. But we can't expect everything from him on such tough development of cm9 which includes new drivers, wifi problems, most tough development of kernel 3.0 & many more problems.
We all expect from u guys that please help Dhiru by working on ICS kernel. Also many users seriously facing blacklight issue which causes a heavy battery drain on cm7 & now on cm9 roms. So please take a look into that also. We all will be thankful to u :)

    Thank You

    Regards
