Re: [CM10.1][4.2.2][UNOFFICIAL][FEB22] temasek's UNOFFICIAL BUILD - V44

Ironically, I am one of those users ;P This is why I am familiar with this issue, as I tried to do the same stuff on my Samsung 7" tab.
Same issue, which I believe is a T-Mobile thing that isn't properly fixable on the device end of things. Oh well, I'll see if I can work out a way to script the process of "clearing data" from the Mobile Data app, or otherwise mitigating this issue.

So far everything I have tried works perfectly except for two things:

1-Sending MMS does not work. When I try to send one I get "Currently can't send your message. It will be sent when the service becomes available." I have NOT tested MMS functionality on the stock ROM, so I have no way of telling if this is a problem with the ROM or just T-Mobile being stupid. Any other T-Mobile users who can test?

2-Google Wallet is included in the stock ROM and appears to be OK. I didn't get a chance to test it out before flashing CM10.1. I noticed that in this ROM, there is no included Google Wallet. I was able to download and install Google Wallet via the Play marketplace, but I am getting an 'Unsupported Device" warning. The statement it links me to appears to specifically deal with rooted devices. Anyone else tested anything related to Google Wallet? Also, I haven't tested it yet, because I didn't have time to install and configure it and then use it to buy a train ticket before the train left this morning :p

As for the SMS notification, I will see if I can help in some way.
Will post any findings here :)

---------- Post added at 05:03 PM ---------- Previous post was at 04:55 PM ----------

Looks like the two SMS things are very easy to fix.
The test icon belongs to the MmsAppTests.apk package.
The stupid notifications are coming from BasicSmsReceiver.apk.
Both are located in /system/app and can be deleted.
Removing BasicSmsReceiver does not actually stop the device from receiving SMS, as the MMS.apk still works.

So yay, no more double notifications :)

So you managed to fix that double notification issue? Hoping temasek will fix this issue in the next build.

About phone app, I don't use it anymore. I use MobileVOIP app now. Phone app UI is kinda weird, that's why I stopped using it, plus : I can't see my VOIP account balance in the default phone app. Maybe it should be removed in the next version? Thoughts?

Indeed, the BasicSmsReceiver.apk is the source of the lame notifications.
You can simply move or delete it out of /system/app and it will no longer cause extra notifications.

-EDIT-

Removed a bunch of extraneous posts to report the important bottom line:

If you remove / rename Phone.apk, it breaks the device's ability to send / receive SMS.completely. This obviously also means integration with Google Voice without using the Google Voice app is impossible.
So, removing Phone.apk is probably a really bad idea for most users?

Confirmed. I couldn't use Dialer to check my account balance or perform some USSD Codes. And i also couldn't send my SMS, just receiving it ( MMS not tested ). Hope he Temasek and CM Team will fix issues above asap.

Refresh your SMSC code and compare with your service provider's code.

As for MMS, check your apn if it includes Mms (if it's a requirement by your provider). My provider requires mms apn btw.

Just for reference, I think temasek is talking about the codes as seen over here:
http://wiki.cyanogenmod.org/w/SMSC_Updates

I have set up my APN as detailed here:
http://theunlockr.com/internet-mms-settings/
I found a T-Mobile support document but it didn't have all the settings. Everything in the T-Mobile document matches the Unlockr documentation, except the Unlockr also specifies the protocol.
Didn't make any difference.
I'm kicking myself for not testing out the MMS functionality on the "stock" out of the box rom.
Anyone have the "stock" T-Mobile APN settings?

-Edit-
Just to be clear, mobile DATA works fine, and SMS still works for me.
It is ONLY the MMS functionality which is broken.
I will test out MMS on my other T-Mobile tablet once I get home.

Fstrim support got merged.

I'm building it together with updated source. Let's see how fstrim works well with our device.

I can't use Voip with the Phoneapp cause the Button to create a new account is missing. Tryed clean Install - always the same.
So I use Sidroid for Voip untill this is fixed.

Add a menu to your nav bar & you can. Use navigation bar customization to add then proceed to phone app, settings, accounts, press menu on nav bar, and add account.

There u go.

Re: [CM10.1][4.2.2][UNOFFICIAL][FEB25] temasek's UNOFFICIAL BUILD - V46

I think others have mentioned this, but my battery indicator (system wide) seems to be 'stuck' at 100%.
I have tried the various battery displays, like different icons and the battery bar.
I have also tried plugging / unplugging my tablet.
It doesn't change to a "charging" state and isn't changing to reflect discharge. Is this a CM bug, or could it be specific to the N7?

Finally fixed after I let the power discharged for a bit.
The buggy behavior seems to be that it gets stuck and then doesn't detect changes in the "charging" or "plugged in" state.

I have the same problem though my device hangs at 4 %. Happened with three different builds. I guess its only the detection from the OS and not really the battery not charging. ( Though same problem shows up in TWRP - not charging and 4% )

The only solution I found is to wait it out - patience is a virtue?! :)

Nice to see I'm not alone.

A friend of mine has asked me to compile a lightweight tilapia CM10.1 for him. Would you be so kind as to tell me what should I
add to roomservice.xml to pull it off?

Code:
<project name="TheMuppets/proprietary_vendor_asus" path="vendor/asus" remote="github" revision="cm-10.1" />

<project name="CyanogenMod/android_device_asus_tilapia" path="device/asus/tilapia" remote="github" revision="cm-10.1" />

<project name="CyanogenMod/android_kernel_asus_grouper" path="kernel/asus/grouper" remote="github" revision="cm-10.1" />

Would this be enough? Or do I need to add android_device_asus_grouper as stated in tilapia dependencies?

Thanks in advance.

Yes you need device grouper.
