I assume I can update your previous 4.2 De-Odexed to this by dirty-flashing on top of it?

Trying it out with backups.

If you want a modded rom, you're probably going to have better luck with the other 2 bazillion modded roms on the internet.

Head over here: http://xdaforums.com/showthread.php?t=2017574 The stock/rooted roms are odexed. It is actually more difficult to make a De-Odexed ROM

Install modaco's camera launcher app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.modaco.cameralauncher. The stock rom doesn't have the camera icon visible.

The developer makes a script wich installs the rom. Inside that script he can specify what happens when you install the rom. If the dev of this rom put inside that script the command to wipe the internal memory, that is what your phone will do while installing. So you cannot say it is normal or not.
