Things that you will need to do this

1.Samsung GT I5800/I5801
2.Odin (http://www.multiupload.com/LFJRACWNQ2)
3.Ops file (partition file) (http://www.multiupload.com/SOMN2EWF0J)
4.2.2 froyo firmware (http://www.multiupload.com/RLHA3EC581)

5.Pc and micro USB data cable (what came with the buy)

Process

if you want to keep your data you better back it up or
else it wont save anywhere.

1.You need to download all the files

2.you need to extract 2.2 firmware file after extracting you will get 4 different files(.tar)

3.So now you will open odin and select the ops file you have downloaded. Then you need to select individually the BOOT,PHONE,CSC AND PDA.
After you have done it you can close odin for now.

4.Now comes the risky part where you should be extra careful.Switch off your phone and remove the battery, and then connect it with data cable, now you can
put battery back to phone and connect it to PC.

5.Now open Odin again and check everything over what
you checked before.

Now press following keys together
Home+Volume up + Power

When you see in odin that box where is port is yellow then you can it start button and lean back and watch.

You should get picture where is "DO NOT TURN OFF THE TARGET"

Then you are all set.

no need new firmware

Hey actually there is no need to reinstall firmware to unroot the device.
I used ""z4root"" to unroot my "froyo".
z4root can't root froyo roms but it can unroot froyo roms also.
you can unroot with ""superoneclick"" also, but you need pc to work with superoneclick. For z4root no need pc.
