This unique clock calendar would be look sweet on the GTX skin. However not being a coder, I have no idea where to start. Anyone care to give it a shot?

it would be simple to take that image and make it into a clock but I dont think theres any way of making the calendar actually work....
it would be purely aesthetic....

theres also the issue of the person who created it...
I wouldn't really be comfortable using it without permission....

I dont think you would be able to get the digital clock inside the circle either.....

As I am a fan of conventional watch gears, I was wondering how to replicate this effect on the Sense Clock. Thus I had the idea of concentric rings. As with all ideas, I googled to see what was out and lo and behold I found something similar.

Due to limited space on our devices the clock should only consist of 3 rings

Inner Ring - Hours 24 segments. (12 in white, 12 in black for AM/PM)

Middle Ring - Minutes 60 segments

Outer Ring - Seconds 60 segments

The time would be shown @ the 3'Oclock position so we could read the time conventionally.

For increased visual appeal, the 3 rings could be programmed to move in opposite directions. E.G Hours move CCW (counter clockwise), minutes move CW and seconds move CCW.

For the digital clock look here http://xdaforums.com/showpost.php?p=7503150&postcount=267.
The calendar isn't really different from the calendar rings in my clocks.
But for the permission I see it in the same way.

@slimbrown
You are right. The clock is too big for the HD2.

Permission granted. Basic Design would be something similar to this:

8tyZX8

Inner Ring (BLUE) - Hours 24 segments. (12 in white, 12 in black for AM/PM).

Middle Ring (GREEN) - Minutes 60 segments

Outer Ring (RED)- Seconds 60 segments

Time Display Box (Black)- Displays Time. Most likely in Larger Font than on the wheel to make it easier to read.

Hey Slim,
First of all thanks for your pm and Im glad youve got permission to use the image......

Unfortunately I dont think I can help you with this project.....
Until I came upon this thread I had no idea it would be possible to make the clock function in the way that you describe......

Something like this is far beyond me Im afraid.......
Perhaps rat_2665 might be able to help or point you in the direction of somebody who can........

If you do get a working version I'll be happy to beta test though :D
I could always put together some alternative skins for it as well.......

I hope you do manage to get this off the ground and If I come across anybody that I think might be able to help you I'll send them this way......

Best of luck........ :D

Make it more like the original clock, the display in the centre and the present values marked by a line (at 12 or 3 position). For the scripts and the mode9 file the files by mncessna can be used. But I would advice against too colorful picture. Make instead a black/white version for day and a lumen version for night. You have to do three pictures (6 for day/night) for the "hands", which are really 256x256 pixel pictures with transparent background and the 24/60/60 in the start position (red line in the original clock). The centre with time and date can be transparent. For the scripts and the mode9 file I can help.

somebody give me an update on this?

i'd like to create this clock. is that ok?

i've attached a picture of a clock i made of concentric rings. it's an appealing picture to watch....for some reason, i enjoy watching the wheels turn...by the way, the cover for this clock has a rectangular opening on the right side. it has rounded corners. this is where the current time is displayed. i intended to make the cover only 10% transparent, just enough to let the wheels moving behind it show up a little....sort of add to the mystique of it. but i made it 100% transparent for now so i could debug it. i think i like it this way :)

i've also posted a clock of concentric circles i made. it's a neat one too. it has a weekday function, a moving second hand ball, ampm indicator, and 2 green balls surrounding the current hour. the current minute is indicated by a small blue ball.

SlimBrown asked me to help him with this clock. i told him i'd like to do that.
so, is it ok to proceed? i've sort of been working on it already but thought i'd better ask before doing to much more.

diff in displayed time

I don't know if anybody has noticed, but at your digital time it's 12.21 and at the analogue/concentric clock it's 12.22 :D

Grtz,

Degake

yeah, that's a "feature" of the lua script that drives all the motion and text displays.

every second, the seconds wheel is rotated and the minutes wheel is rotated.

there is a "calendar" function that gets called routinely, but not every second, that updates the time text.

i wanted the snapshot to be with the second hand at the top centered position. i should've waited until the calendar function had updated the time text.

my bad :)

    Wheels Of Time (aka concentrichron)

i don't know if anyone is trolling this thread anymore, but just in case....

i've moved to the android space and since then developed a live wallpaper that is called wheels of time. you can find it on the google market for $.99. i hope you but it and like it!

    thanks,

I changed the luascript and the mode 9 file like described before (and made some variables from global to local). Now the clock is working for me with German settings and 24 hour use.

sure, i can apply a transparency to the rings. why don't you provide me a list of wheel name (year, month, day, weekday, hour, minutes-tens, minutes-ones) and transparency percentage and i'll see what i can do.

    Hi marvin..
sorry but i'm a noob in all of this but.
for me i love to see the year and day a bit transparent maybe 25 procent
of course it still has to be readable..

    thnx

    International version of Concentrichron widget

Unfortunately the month shows for German users a wrong char for "ä". Don't know why this happen. Tried to fix it, I got the month working again, but broke instead the whole clock function - no time working.

Could you be so kind and compile this version for me?

PS: Happy new year to you and all other...

This is the same widget as the English version of mncessna's Concentrichron clock (so they can't exist together) but with the text fields in the language of your regional settings. For this you need CHT 2.0; it is a standalone clock and doesn't substitute the standard clock. If you want to mod the image files (for example to german), you can take a zip or cab of the standard clock and rename the approbiate manila files (standard clock -> widget):

    CoverPlate (shield) 41c36290_manila 1853625A_manila
    CoverPlate2 (bubbles) 41c36290_manila 22E3480C_manila
    CoverPlate3 (gray) 41c36290_manila 22F5608D_manila
    second Hand (wheel) 2a87d392_manila 0117D35C_manila
second Hand (gray hand) 2a87d392_manila 2447F1CF_manila

    years Wheel 15251474_manila 6BB5143E_manila
    months Names 67A1D588_manila 1031CE92_manila
    months Days 3abd7985_manila 114D794F_manila
    week Days 2cfdd9f8_manila 17175F42_manila
    hours Wheel 129aeb61_manila 692AEB2B_manila
    minutes Tens 3955f1ba_manila 61E5EAC4_manila
    minutes Ones 3bda7e75_manila 646A777F_manila

There are multiple names for the Coverplate because there are different Coverplates and second hands in the widget but not in the standard clock. You have to install the widget and then to copy your modified files into the windows directory (same for every reinstalling).

    recompiled

I'm a little bit confused. I want to use this clock in CHT 1.8.5 and not with CHT 2. So what do I need to do? I thougth that an easy way is to modify the lua file - not using "ä" for "Jän" or "Mär" - and copy it back. Unfortunately I got error while compiling... Anyone else who can compile the script for me?

    here's your file...re-compiled.
