Yes FC on my un-rooted Galaxy Note too.
However using the older 6.1.1 ownhere changepn version no FC problem.
Think both of you may try to use that old version to see if it work on your device.
Hhhmmm... I am still having the same problem as I did with the previous 6.3.0 changepn version.
I have a Galaxy Nexus running stock ROM ICS (4.0.2), non-rooted. I installed the 6.4.0 ownhere changepn version. Installation was fine. Maps app opens up fine too. Then I do a search of a place, tap on it, tap on the directions icon and then tap on navigate. It will start to navigate, then wham! Maps force closes. It tells me "Unfortunately Maps has stopped".
Any ideas? Thanking everyone in advance.

Just hope that miloytyn will make another non-root mod for Maps 6.4.0 as well, as his previous version works on my phone without FC... @miloytyn: when you have the time, could you please make a a non-root mood for Maps 6.4.0, please?
I have been using this by miloytyn and it works without issues for me (non-root mod for Maps 6.2.0)...

Well I can make it next week, but I don't think it helps. I have only changed modified version to work non-rooted phones. What could help is that if szihs would make the modified version and I would update it to non-rooted. Szihs probably does something differently compared to ownhere, which makes maps to work in ICS.
S.kool, all on the first psst how to install......?

i'm runnin ICS 0.4.3 from Sandvold, and i was wondering is it possible to use terminal emulator to remove stock maps and install 6.4.0 ownhere signed version, and if it's possible how can i do it
what are CLI instructions??
i try instructions from #1 post but it didnt work with terminal emulator or titanium backup...i dont have skill to do it over Android SDK...
so i try install maps for unrooted devices (maps 6.4.0 changepn...but now i have doubled maps, doubled navigation, doubled places, doubled latidute and it keeps crashing
...i know you think i'm not reading and just trolling but i'm not i really need some more instructions
Since you have a rooted phone and since you have successfully flashed a ROM, I'm assuming you know a lil bit about computers and zip files. Now, based on that assumption, I'd suggest ...
a) download maps6.4.0-ownhere-signed.apk from the 1st page (signed version).
b) Extract the contents of your rom to a folder ... let's say the folder name is "Sandvold"
c) goto \Sandvold\system\apps
d) delete maps.apk (or anything that looks like it)
e) copy the file you downloaded in step (a) above to this folder ... \Sandvold\system\apps
f) Get inside the folder \Sandvold and select all
g) Right click and zip all highlighted files to a file (name of your choice)
h) copy the newly created rom file to your SD card and FLASH!
No i don't think that..... Try titanium again to uninstall the original maps. If can not work then use root explorer to manually delete the maps file from your system. I recommend you complete a NANDROID backup first. Then try installing the ownwhere signed.apk
It usually works for me. Good luck.

I upgraded to 6.4.0 and I still don't have these big turn arrows on top of the screen. Just long text and distance to next turn.

Tried unistalling and clear data. Even reinstalled my rom without luck. Anyone else had this problem and figured it out?
adb remount
adb push /Google maps6.7.0-ownhere.apk /system/app
Would anyone like to share how the maps.apk is changed to allow navigation to work in all countries. I'm sure this forum would benefit from this info so that more ppl could help on getting the latest release out when google releases it.
Do somebody please tell me how to unlock the google maps for navigation?
