just plug your phone to PC and use fastboot (follow the link sent by kanded) that will work.

monty...you can't just use fastboot! it will not work till HBOOT is updated! s-off users dont have this option.
follow my post here http://xdaforums.com/showthread.php?t=1467060
to allow you access to the htc unlock, which then allows you to install cwm 5, until then...you cannot!
so please stop telling people with s-off things you cannot do!
ive said it loads of times now! you s-off users have it easy. took me ages with help to figure a workaround just to install cwm 5.

unstable

Hey,

I had done this long back with ext3 partion and then it was unstable. So thought of doing the whol procedure with ext2 and guess what...? same thing.

I followed the procedure as explained.

Installed busybox
flashed data2sdext2
everything was completed just fine

restarted my phone.. everything still loks good.. and suddenly i see 'force close' messages. I got the internal memory gain but at a cost of unstability.

phone has a huge lag time. when I press power button to start my screen it takes about 15/20 seconds to just switch my screen on.

Last time I also had a query about my sd card. I am using a Class 4 8 GB SD card.

Is it still considered as high speed (I mean; when we have class 10 in the market :D)? and does the issue has anything to do with the card? or I did something wrong? I am not sure.. can anybody help?

Only for this action (data2sd) i get class 10, 16 gb sd card and get it today...

So, must i format all of the sd card as ext2 or i must format ext2 how much gb i want use as internal memory?

If i format only the capacity how much i wanna use as internal memory, can i use other 14 gb as sd card memory? or must i format other 14 gb with another format?

Whats the actual layout?
partition 1 vfat for /sdcard
partition 2 ext3 for /data

partitions need to be created in minitool partition wizard.

ext3 partition at max of 1.5gb no more as it becomes unstable.
set ext3 as primary then apply actions.
rest of sd should be untouched by the program...if you have formatted it then you have done it wrong. but it should be fat32.

have u managed to update your hboot?

have u managed to update your hboot?

Yes hboot is unlocked,
run root.zip (very dodgy)
flash CMW recovery
installed "thnig" rom, whats the most stable/popular rom?
setup the sdcard as outlined above using fdisk on linux
ran the htc-data2sd-ext3.zip
and it all works

I have 400+mb for internal storage
and 1400+mb for /sdcard
Hopefully, unlike the stock slasa rom, gtalk wont keep failing

THIS SCRIPT IS MADE BY MY FRIEND, puppeth13, ALL CREDITS GOES TO HIM

    1. make sure your sdcard has been partitioned in ext2

    2. go to cwm recovery, wipe data, cache and dakvik cache. Reboot.

    3. Install busybox, and choose the version v1.17.1

    4. now go to cwm recovery again.

    5. flash htc-data2sd sdcard

    6. Reboot

    * now check your internal storage.
    * this script is made only for Salsa, can be used also for Wildfire S.
    * REMEMBER, Make sure you have partitioned your sdcard using ext2 format and BusyBox v1.17.1 installed on /system/xbin

    UPDATE :

    htc-data2sd-ext3.zip

Actually im using same sd card n setting 700MB ext3. Its running fine when its reach about 600MB further than that it will turn into slugs lol

Sent from my HTC Salsa C510e using Tapatalk 2

i did some extensive testing on this lol, found 500mb to be a safe usable average on this type of sd card. if you can get more then fine lol, but i set recommends only from my own tests to help others out. its entirely the users choice but we cannot help if you don't listen to advice lol

    Updated htc-data2sd.zip

Here is updated data2sd.zip for HTC Salsa and HTC Wildfire S.

    How to use it :
    1. flash CWM-Recovery 5.0.2.6 from CWM Recovery v.5.0.2.6 in English
    2. Backup all your sdcard data
    3. enter CWM-Recovery and make partition of your sdcard(this is the easiest way to partition the sdcard)
    4. reboot your phone and copy all you data back to sdcard
    5. copy htc-data2sd.zip to the sdcard as well
    6. reboot to recovery and install htc-data2sd.zip

    it's already included busybox-1.17.1
the included busybox is sololy used for the script,so there will be no problem installing diffrent version of busybox on your device.
your sd-ext partition will be formated to ext2,therefore all data on sd-ext will be lost.

    htc-data2sd.zip download link

    UPDATE :

    htc-data2sd-ext3.zip download link

For OP : please update the 1st post and download link

    Img files including cwm recovery

    ALL RUU FOR HTC SALSA

    USE THIS COMMAND :

    fastboot flash system system.img
    fastboot flash boot boot.img
    fastboot flash recovery recovery.img

i replace all recovery.img files with the cwm recovery. so when you flash recovery.img, it means you are flashing the cwm recovery.

say thanks if you are fine with it :D
