I've got everything running great right now. Haven't found a bug worth remembering I suppose. I've been using bricked .58 and everything has been amazing.

No dice.

My guess is that when I enabled hide the lock screen outline things, **** went bad.

Weird graphical glitches all over the place.

Had to restore. I'll try again tomorrow.

Unfortunately, there is no gapps link in the op. But, the latest jb gapps work fine.

Anywho.....

This rom is some great work. I appreciate the contribution. So far, running really smooth. I have not added a modified kernel, but am going to try trinity, motleys and omega3 before bed.

bricked 0.58 is going in the next build. found it to be really stable and get good battery even if it isn't the best in terms of performance.

you new to flashing custom ROMs?

every time you change ROMs you should factory reset. it will keep your sdcard contents. as far as saved games it probably depends on the developer that made the game but it should hang on to them.

Im new yes.ialso need to factory reset even if i update same rom to newer version?thx.

Re: [ROM] PRIME D01-13 Milestone [ATOM v2 for N7][4.2.1]

This is so fast. I was going to flash P. A. 2.99 & decided to install this first just to see how bad it was. I love TabletUI, but this rom is amazing. Everything is so fluid. For instance, Solid Explorer for moving & copying 720p mkv videos. In CM10 & P. A. 2.54 there was no hesitation, but in P. A. 2.99 & SmoothRom 4.3 the lag is undeniable. A ton of audio pops & crackles when using headphones and doing normal touch screen operations, more noticable in 4.2 roms, is completely eliminated. I am still on stock kernel. I hated 4.2 for it's bloated feel & have been using 4.1.2. This is faster than any 4.1.2 I have encountered. Why is this so much better than any rom?

because 99% if all rom developers only focus on adding in features and making a theme because that's all you see. even AOKP is guilty of it. compare their gerrit to CM's and you will see what i'm talking about.

I do it the other way around. I take the start with source from private upstream repos (basically AOSP that hasn't been released publicly yet) to ensure less bugs, and continue to rebase this source with upstream commits, then i run it through the best and most current compiler (GCC4.8 Linaro) with the most current linaro tool chain to ensure a faster better more stable build. Plus a LOT of other really technical and boring stuff like optimizing memory calculation functions and clibrary stuff. actually how things run is pretty much our (Vanir's) focus. Plus other stuff too. In the keyboard for example i removed like 3000 soem lines of code that involved logging your keystrokes and storing/uploading them every 18 words for "research purposes". Goog can suck a D if they think bloaty code like this is ok. I also touched up the key layout to a better/more efficient one as you can see from the extra key hints and multi-function buttons. all the feature additions are meant to be subtle and laid out intuitively instead of in some proprietary ROM control style format. I like this better because it makes more sense to have all your sound options under the AOSP sound header rather than some there and some in a different location. i bet you didn't even notice some of them. for example contact list view... a CM 7 feature i forward ported remains hidden within the app. the next build will have a lot more. we even added an inverted UI theme chooser for those of you that like the "triage" look and i'm having somebody make an aroma installer for inverted and non-inverted gapps also..

please spread the word. i like sharing my work with the community and getting feedback & constructive criticism

I'm quite impressed. I'm much more for improved performance over aesthetics, and my theme only needs a few widgets and a different launcher, so I'm good as far as looks go. I'll have to backup Rasbean sometime this week and give your ROM a go. I love smaller, niche communities where I can get to know the developers and such, which was the same case with the HP TouchPad where there are only like 2 main contributors to it. (Dalingrin/JCsullins/Dorregrey)

BTW, I personally like M-kernel. Great balance of power and performance.

PM me a link and ill check it out sometime but.. i broke 6500 with motley. that's pretty insane dude. The highest i've seen elsewhere was 6200. scores will continue to climb also the more time i get to spend honing my compiler and grooming my source.

Might want to stick with the stock kernel.. Or something a little more tame. Graphics glitches usually come from GPU oc too high. Happened to me when i tried a 520 kernel

New build coming tomorrow hopefully just got one more thing to do

Best and most current compilers not always the same thing

I absolutely love the speed and the clean ROM. I work off my tablet and it is my life blood. I am loading all my stuff on it now but it is very fast. I just did a clean wipe and installed with out any other kernel.

Thank you I will run for a couple of days and if all is good will send beer money.

Welcome to VanirAOSP. Our mission is to deliver a clean optimized version of Android with subtly improved versions of the features you love to as many devices as possible. we've tried to incorporate and improve our features in a way that makes them more cohesive to improve the overall user experience while correcting any performance regressions and improving functionality..

    What to expect:
    - This is not a McCopy ROM. What goes into our build is well thought-out and not a bunch of stuff duck taped together because we could.
    - maximum optimization. We do our research. We test hard. We build -fstrict -O3 globally and include a massive array of code optimizations and memory leak fixes that we write ourselves and eventually submit to AOSP or Linaro.
    - originality in our source. We generate a lot of new commits being features or general code improvements. We are open source to share and improve the community but we also try to make sure we offer a unique experience.
    - aesthetics.. hopefully in your opinion :p

    General features:
stock mode - ability revert to stock AOSP code with the exception of a few custom features we chose to keep active
enhanced performance.. longer uptime with less slowdown
    custom written CRON and init.d.
    UI and graphics improvements
custom navbar, navring, and hardware key features
halo (active display & lockscreen notifications are in review)
usability improvements like power reboot menu and sound
    animation control
    Improved Vanir keyboard
    CM's profiles & quicksettings
    additional quicksetting tiles
    immersive mode
    statusbar mods
    clock & battery mods
    lockscreen blur and other mods
soon to come -> quick cam and flash notifications
busybox, embedded root, init.d, cron etc
    yatta yatta yatta
more to come when i feel like updating the op
