At this time, the community has not figured out a way around this. Fortunately, I am one of the lucky ones that always boots from SD just fine.Stock 1.42 internal and cm7 on sd card. In order to boot to the sd card, I must have the power cord connected . Is there a way around this ? This is a 16 gb tablet. Thanks
those heads on those ( two ? ) screws... were they an odd brand or type ( anti-pamper ) ? ? ?as a quick way, you can pull the battery connector from the back of the unit. I demonstrated this on XDATV Nook Tablet unboxing.

You might want to try this procedure: http://xdaforums.com/showpost.php?p=24885731&postcount=679Stock 1.42 internal and cm7 on sd card. In order to boot to the sd card, I must have the power cord connected . Is there a way around this ? This is a 16 gb tablet. Thanks
The above download link is dead; is there a new replacement link?Lets try to fix that:
Boot cwm
1st do this:
dd if=/dev/block/mmcblk0p2 of=/sdcard/mmcblk0p2
So you backup your p2 partition.
Now flash mine, after you copy onto sdcard
dd if=/sdcard/mmcblk0p1.img of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p1
dd if=/sdcard/mmcblk0p2.img of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p2
Reason i tell you to backup yours is because mine has cyanoboot.
When you want to go back to yours reverse the flashing.
Here is the download link:

Please report if boot2sd is fixed after this.

STRICTLY FOR 16GB NOOK TABLETS
This seems to work for me when I am stuck without a USB power cable and need to boot into CM.
1. Boot into stock Nook.
2. Click the SD card icon in the bottom left hand corner and select browse SD card.
3. Hold down power button and power off. Wait for the Nook to shutdown.
4. Hold down power button to power back on, try to hold down the power button for as short a time as possible when you do this.
5. Do not try any other button pressing during boot.
I am using a n2acards.com 16GB card downloaded from their site on a 8GB Nook tablet.
I think it's ridiculous that anyone would pay $20 for something that you can do for free with just reading into it a little. You could learn something in the process. Oh but that requires some work, and that's too hard...
If you want to donate your money, give it to the actual developers that are spending countless hours figuring all this out for us to use.
