hi all any help would be much appreciated.

ok got a tab2 p5110 last year for my mother-in-law, she`s technophobic but was getting along with android ok.

when about 2 months ago she told me it would no longer work, when i got to have a look at it it seems to be in some sort of loop, the

"Samsung galaxy tab2" logo appears then disappears for a few seconds then re-appears until the battery runs out.

i googled boot loop galaxy tab2 and found this: youtube.com/watch?v=lflnn850jRw[/url]

everything seamed to work, even showing on the odin screen that a custom rom had been flashed, except of coarse that it was still in the boot loop!!!

very annoying, please can anyone help?

Start tab into recovery, power and volume up, navigate to wipe cashe, wipe dalvik cashe, that should get running again.

The tab may have lost "root" thats probably why, can't remember if stock recovery can wipe. ?
Try force off, then on into recovery.

I would not mess with pit files unless you flash a wrong rom , but that not being the case try a factory reset by starting tab in stock recovery and selecting "factory reset".

Take a look at this article.

hi looked at link i guess this is my problem:

"Bootloop trouble because recovery
Galaxy tab will booting but stuck at Samsung logo, then the screen goes black and you can see that backlight. Next the screen will completely turn off and galaxy tab start to boot again.
The trouble came from incompatibles recovery or corrupted recovery file."

and this is solution:

"Fix Bootloop trouble because recovery
1. Go to download menu.
2. Using ODIN install stock recovery to Galaxy Tab"

but where do i find stock recovery?

Go to samsung website, look for support, downloads. Look up your model and download firmware. That will include stock recovery.

The PIT file is the partition information table. It tells your phone where different packages go on the phone or tablet, as well as how big partitions are on the phone or tablet.
Using a different version of odin may help also, double check the files you download as to the model.

Copy links to clipboard so they display properly and others can check your información.

Not sure if this is the site you used but check it out.
https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&sou...tXoHOL6fm1pIfIZQg&sig2=1gNMZ287fIyE76XjKI12GA

Navigate to your model number and download.

If you have corrupt partitions its probably causing the boot loop.
Not sure if you can just get a pit file from sammoble, it's usually a complete firmware, but that will have the correct pit file to fix your problem.

update

just to update,

no luck so far, tried both uk roms on sammobile.com with Odin v3.07 v3.06 v3.04 v1.85 v1.83

also tried this:

xdaforums.com/showthread.php?t=1957165&highlight=cf+root

it`s just the same,

looking at odin 3.07 theres a "nand erase all" tick box, is this a reset option?

trying to find out about pit files, could this help me?

battery

i was just wondering is it the battery?

if i unplug it from the charger it will carry on in the boot loop for around half an hour, before it is out of charge.

when i plug it back in to the charger it will show the an empty battery icon then boot into the loop.

when i press the power button and vol/up button to get it into odin it shows the empty battery icon again before going into odin.

could it be that the battery has failed?

and does anyone know if the tablet is supposed to charge in odin?
