In other news, this is the first time I've seen setup wizard (didn't see it on 2.0.6 or 2.0.8)

hi diz. it seems that the cmparts.apk you attached to the post is corrupted. it says it's 1.12 mb in size, but i tried to download it using both my tab and my pc and all i got is 554 bytes of file size. pushed it anyways in systems/app and the fc is still there.

thanks...

I don't think I could skip it. My tab is looping between the boot animation and setup wizard screen, before I even get to hit anything :/

I'll try a restock with Odin though in the near future and see if I get the same results

I got the same thing with the wrong GAPPS. GAPPS_GB_20110828-signed.zip worked for me, the newtalk one rebooted constantly, just re-flashed the first one and it was fine.

The new script simply searches for all Google-inc apps. much better than the old way.

I've upgraded from 2.0.8 to 2.0.9 and lost market, Gmail and other gapss. I've reinstalled them and reactivated but it's necessary to remove them during update? I don't remember if I had to do this earlier.
Or maybe I am doing it wrong? I am updating rom in recovery, and by applying zip.
Thanks!

Try flashing with this gapps first (should do a wipe cache & wipe dalvik cache before flashing this gapps):
http://goo.im/gapps/gapps-gb-20110613-signed.zip
Then update to gapps 20110828, its work for me on 2.0.9

K I was able to install 2.0.9 and the Gapps mentioned and I'm able to boot fine :)

I'm not entirely sure what gapps package goo manager offered, but I guess it wasn't the latest or something

Countrary to what might have been said by the CM7 team about the latest builts, this does NOT fix the deletion of pictures on the SD card
I just found out this morning... Lost all the pics
I dont care much since I was backing them up BUT not being able to store pics on the external SD is honestly a real pain in the ass (Yeah I know I can use the app that blocks media scanning but it doesnt always work)

I ll check with CM. I believe 7.2.1 fixes the issues we are refering too, while BOCA RC2 is a KANG of 7.2.0 no?

Not sure if that picture deletion thing is nice :/

Does this only occur for media on the external SD card though?

Also, Google+'s app has an option to instantly upload all pictures you take on your device to your account automatically (but they aren't shared, you have to do that yourself). Might be very nice for some people :)

Hi,I installed Boca rc2.09 yesterday,my 2nd custom rom and I have to admit its the fastest one I have tried.:)

Faced few issues though:
1.The flash video playback like the YouTube ones and the one's inside the browser is choppy when played in 720 and 1080p,upto 480p its good.I installed the last flash player still when I try playing them in hd it says"Video not optimized for mobile".I used the stock browser and the dolphin hd browser, both giving the same error. On stock rom which was much slower than Boca I din face this prob.

2.The brightness and the 4g settings crashes everytime they r opened.

3.The stock camera takes a while capturing a snapshot and also the shutter sound is a bit low. Also the nenamrk 2 test hangs everytime in between.

Other than these this rom is blazing fast and buttery smooth.I was on Aokp ics build 31 and certainly this one is much faster. Thanks diz for an awesome rom.:)

No it is ot nice.....
Yes you can use G+ automatic upload. I do.
However this works when you take pics. If you store albums on your SD Card (wch I do) if you didnt take the pic with your current ROM it jus wont save them...
Anyway this is just an unbearable bug and hipefully CM9 will correct this (However as far ass I could read 7.2.1 solves this, which menas if Diz compiles his next ROM based on 7.2.1 we should be fine)
That being aid if you want o be on GB this is b far the fastest/nicest ROM around

Volume controls (the thing that lets u manually adjust ringtone, media, and alarm clock volume) FC's on me.

Also about the physical keyboard thing and setup wizard, I know nothing about this, but there must be a way to tell android that a physical keyboard does not exist? Hyperdroid ROM does this

WARNING!!! IF YOU ARE COMING FROM AN MTD PARTITIONS ROM (te4m cm9)
A FULL RE-PARTITION & RESTOCK MAY BE NEEDED
TO MAKE THIS OR ANY OTHER TAB ROM FUNCTION PROPERLY

All your data will also be erased.

    Install Instructions
For Coming From Any Rom That isn't BOCA, MIUI or unofficial port based off of CM7 (Teks)
    (see below for those instructions)

As you all know, when switching from rom to rom, something called a safe stock re-partitioned is very much preferred, almost required. Even more so, when jumping from roms with different os bases, example is going from a 2.3 based rom to a 2.3.7 or 4.0.4 (or reverse).
You need to do this process to kinda bleach out anything that remains of the old rom, as many times these arent properly cleared through a recovery erase, and can leave behind bits and pieces that can, and frequently do, disrupt the next rom you try to run. This is never a good thing, as it can cause anything from a bootloop to mysterious ghost like behaviors. Not to mention many things many not work correctly in your new rom.

Team Overcome has created, or basically repacked a way to do this. Many thanks!!!!
    TeamOvercome website HERE

    1) Go to Overcomes website, and download a zip called: ROM | 001001-GB-Stock-Safe-v5
(this is the base, non branded 'official' release of Gingerbread from Samsung. Overcome has made a few modifications to this file, and added Odin, modems and Samsung SGT driver installer to the zip)
    2) While at the Overcome site, also download a zip called: KERNEL | 002001-Overcome Kernel V3.3.1 (TAR)
(this is a kernel made by AB, with some nice work done to it. But what we need it for is to convert our system to ext4. It will not run BOCA)
    3) Unzip the GB-Stock zip, and open it up.
    4) Open SAMSUNG_USB_Driver_for_Mobile_Phones_x86, and run it. This will reinstall, and clean up any old drivers for your tab.
    5) plug in your tab when done, and let you computer fully install you SGT's drivers. Once its finished, unplug your tab.
    6) Unplug any USB devices from your computer, & Open Odin3_v1.7, once it opens, plug your tab back in to your computer, in download mode.
Under ID:COM, a yellow window should now state your tabs is connected.
    7) Place gt-p1000_mr.pit inside the PIT slot, PDA slot, place: GB_Stock_Safe_v5.tar
    8) Make sure Re-partition, Auto Reboot and F. Reset Time are checked, press start.
    9) Once finished, and your tab has rebooted, press reset in Odin. On your tab, skip through all the setup options, and reboot into download mode.
    10) Plug your tab back into your computer, and place: 002001-Overcome_Kernel_v3.3.1.tar into the PDA slot, and press start.
    11) Let your tabs sexy robot voice convert your system, once done, boot into recovery, clear everything, go to zip installer, and choose BOCA from your SD card. Let install.
*11.1) L/N device users, must now flash your cm7 device kernel
    12) Boot into BOCA, and reboot once.
    13) As with ANY rom, please do a full battery calibration with the included apk, ASAP.
    14) Enjoy BOCA!!

    INSTALL INSTRUCTIONS
(For when coming from BOCA, MIUI or unofficial port based off of CM7
    1) Boot into your current recovery and clear dalvic cache, cache and user data/factory reset
    2) Go to zip installer and choose BOCA from your SD card
*3a) L/N device users, must now flash your cm7 device kernel
    3) Boot into BOCA, and reboot once.
    4) As with ANY rom, please do a full battery calibration with the included apk, ASAP.

    OTA Install Instructions

    1)download rom
    2)download gapps
3)download your devices kernel (P1000/R/T kernel is included with rom)
4)FLASH in this order: rom, kernel gapps
5)boot into BOCA, then boot into recovery, fix permissions and...
    6) hit the thanks button and enjoy!!
    5
I'll revert some stuff and put something new out.
Hopefully with an OTA feature baked in.

Also don't forget this has a cyanogen base....... Remember to check cyanogen bug tracker for issues on their end
    or to report them.

Also Google play is a nightmare in general.
Some have missing apps (and they are not reporting region and giving clean details) and others see them all.
    Check or report issues HERE
I'm highly tempted to lock in the market version I know works for most, but I know some will be unhappy that it's an older version.
    Well see what happens there.

ALL bug reports need info like: device, and region, carrier, exact HONEST steps you took to install, kernel version used, changes to settings and if possible a logcat. pictures can help also.
not too much to ask, right? If it is, watch this video :)

Simply stating it doesn't work I went to a different rom doesn't help anyone. It's kinda lazy.

Help me help you, and all the while remembering or learning a few things.
This is xda DEVELOPERS. Its not xda product done. It's all a work in progress.
I work very hard and spend many personal hours, to give you my personal work. Thanks are awesome!
My device is bricked, and thank the testers for doing there thing
I don't know everything, if I did, it would be cyanogen miui and boca as the leading alternative android operating systems.

Please be CLEAR with reports, patience is great and don't forget to have fun

if you would like to be an active tester, contact me on gtalk. At BOCAroms@gmail.com or hit the contact button an say so.

    diz

    ps
is everyone enjoying the unrivaled awesomeness that is tweakr?
    4
Diz Thanks once again for an amazing release.

The Nemus launcher is a great addition, for myself I prefer it to VTL.

As Diz has a bricked device I have been doing a bit of testing and am very impressed with the new release.
Battery life is excellent, it's fast and looks great. Screen shots coming shortly.
Above you will see all the additions to this rom. The control over the device is amazing, so many options to make it truly yours.

Installing the new version (my notes for when coming from overcome kernal or BOCA release etc) If in doubt restock

Copy the RC 2.0.6 to the internal SD card of the tab.
    Remember to backup the device
In all cases you will need to :-
    Wipe
    Wipe
    Wipe
    Reboot twice
Log in to Gmail or G Talk.

    Installing from a BOCA release.

    To start, restart to Recovery.

Use the Volume button to access Wipe menu and Power button to select.
    Wipe Cache
    Wipe Dalvik Cache
    Wipe Data / factory reset

Once you have wiped your tab clean select Go Back and select install menu then choose zip from internal SD card.

Local the RC2.0.6.zip file and hit the power button to install
Once complete go to reboot menu and reboot your tab. As we have wiped the cache etc it will take a while to boot, this is normal.

Once the system has booted you will be asked to select your launcher. Select one and see what you think. If you want hit the home button and select the other one and then you can chose the best one for you.
Once you are happy with your launcher, hit home again, tick the box to make the launcher default and select it.

Now reboot. Don’t bother doing anything else until you have done a reboot.
If your unlock screen is smaller than the device screen, you have not restarted the device..

Once your reboot has completed I suggest that you connect to WIFI now. Start the market and put in your details, it will update to play and then you should be ok to update apps install what you need etc.
Remember Diz does not have a working tab. For this reason some of the apps are not up to date, update from my apps to resolve this.

Re the status bar, the ROM has an option turned on to enable a dead zone in the middle of the status bar. To pull up the notification bar do it from the right hand side, if you use the middle it will seem that notification bar is not working, this is not the case.
To disable this go to settings, CyanogenMod settings, Tablet Tweaks and de-select the dead zone.
The dead zone is great if you are hitting the status bar instead of the space bar whilst typing..
