Just installed this (the latest CM11). Maybe it's just me, but it seems like customization has actually *decreased* over time.

No options regarding gestures to wake the phone (and dt2w works less than half the time), option removed for AM/PM in clock, no navbar dimension adjustments (or any option to adjust long-press on the menu button), less battery icon options, etc...

Please tell me I'm missing some awesome section of mods somewhere in this thread? lol

Other than the lack of customization, it seems to run incredibly well overall besides a few small hiccups. CM12 I tried first, even more lacking, but that at least was understandable for being so new.

You can always install xposed framework with gravitybox on CM11

Hey eveyone
Sorry in advance for the noob questions that I may ask now and in the future. I literally just got this phone.
Do I need S-OFF to flash CM11?
I've got an unlocked bootloader and it's rooted running ARHD already (Thanks to the previous owner)
TWRP as the recovery.
I've got a fair enough knowledge on android and HTC, owned an Amaze 4G in the past.
So again, do I need S-OFF before I flash this rom?

S-Off is not required but better to do. You can start flashing if you'd like. Also S-Off you'd have to pay donation to achieve, which is good for you and the developers as well.

if you want the latest CM go here: http://download.cyanogenmod.org/?device=m8 Also download Xposed, you will be a happy camper.

Already running the latest Snapshot with zedomax's OnePlus One mod :D
I hardly run Xposed while on CM, mainly because it gives me what I want already like status bar icons and double tap to wake/sleep.
I used to run it on my Note 3 because I couldn't get AOSP roms for it >.> hate Samsung.
Anyway, thanks again for answering my question. I'm happy it worked flawlessly.

Thinking of going back to KitKat. Earlier, I tried but it the latest Snapshot wasn't detecting my sim card. I have an ATT M8 that's unlocked and using with T-Mobile. I know it's not my sim card, since I did flash, M8 GPE ROM, ARHD ROM, LeeDroid rom, CM12, etc. All those roms pick up my sim with T-Mobile. I don't know why this one doesn't.... Ugh....

EDIT: Nevermind I ran the 4.4.4 RUU for ATT. Then downgraded TWRP to 2.7.1.0 since 2.8.6 wouldn't flash. SO far so good

Sounds like a matter of keeping your firmware matching your CM build. This can be a bit of trial-and-error: I'm on Verizon, and found the firmware from Android 4.4 worked best with CM-12.0 (Android 5.0), and the firmware from Android 5.0 worked best with CM-12.1 (Android 5.1). Other combinations resulted in one thing or another not working.

So after everything is booted, everything is working great. Battery life couldn't be any better. My only thing is I feel I need a more updated radio since signal is not as strong.

For some reason when i install any CM 12+ ROMs, titanium backup does not recgonize that my phone is rooted. I flashed superuser.zip but still no luck. Any reason why this happens?

Greetings all. New to the site but not to modding. I came from a GS4 on MJ7 (Thoroughly locked down, could only root) and recently bought the HTC One M8 because I missed Cyanogenmod, which I had on my GS3. With a nightly build, I expected issues but I could not find a concise list of current issues. I've read through nearly all 140+ pages of this forum, so I'm going to put a quick list here for anyone else contemplating going to CM or wondering if their issue is unique (Hint: It probably isn't). This list is current as of this moment and issues already fixed are not identified:

GPS - Does not recognize any satellites. Flashing a sense ROM, getting a fix, then reflashing CM works for some (did for me).
Duo Camera - Feature not available yet. Might come at a later date, might not.
Corrupt Partition - Forced shutdown may cause partition to become corrupt, making the ROM believe that the phone is encrypted. Fastboot is another culprit.

Hope this helps someone figure out what are known issues. If I have missed any unresolved issues please let me know -- I'll update this list.

Yeah, sorry for the delay. Just got the speakerphone fix in.

Also, the M8 will get Milestone 9 (M9) release.
