Ive just spent the last few hours trying to resize the folders, i don't think its just a case of resizing the image, something isn't scaled right in the .xml's. Nothing i tried would work though so I'll try again tomorrow.

Hack can you just try this for me, thinking about it logically this might work if not i'll send you my launcher that gets themed tomorrow. Rename the Launcher2.apk to Launcher.apk reboot and apply a different home theme from theme manager then reboot again. Edit: thats for the dock and page indicators not folders btw....

Thanks scratch, still trying to sort those errors out thats coming in logcat there seems to be tons of them.

Does anyone know if there is infact opensourced sources for GB MIUI.

I will try the launcher trick for ya once i can get this rom booted again from its bootloop after changing some files.

You know me change change change change. LOL

You did that right my friend, scratch the Lock screen for pin and the circle one needs resizing by looks of it too LOL. The theme still didn't apply either. but i have sorted the lag issue now.

Also sorted most of the errors as well to do with java.

mr.hami your logcat shows quite a few errors what did you do during the logcat to help pin point the issue.

Also the Black on Black issue is defo framework so will decompile the .apk's for framework.


Edit: Good news java i/o erros on boot have now been fixed so performance should now be great at stock CPU speeds.

I am also asking kssood's permission to take a look at his rom which is now out of beta for fixes for this version.

This is what look cat looks now this is a boot to shutdown which used to have a load of Java issues about i/o now i only get java errors on FC's.

I did 2 logcats, there were too many permissions warning, so in the last time I fixed the permissions from recovery and the logcat is right after boot..
While taking the log I didn't understand some of the errors either cause phone was booting normally..
Some of the errors are right after each unlock, which Process system is not responding iss displayed..
then there is music player that if you play music from it's library not only it won't work but it doesn't show any errors or FC.. That's when I close it manually.. When opening a music from file manager music player FCs after couple of seconds.. (Have to say, it just stops playing then jumps out of the app)..
That's as far as I remember, I was so sleepy then.. haha.. But I did what ever procedure I know that cause an error while logging..

Hmmmm..... it worked for me just now, just done a fresh install with the old launcher, created the /data/system/theme folder then renamed the old miuiLauncher.apk in /system/app to Launcher.apk applied the theme (just the home part) rebooted and i had a new dock and page indicators.

It seems there is 2 problems with the folders, the first is they need to be bigger images in the icon pack than the rest of the icons and the second which will be trickier, they seem to scale from the top down so i need to lower the top of the folder a little to line it up with the other icons.

That does sound tricky mate. Well i have kssoods permission to rip his rom to bits and look at his fixes so i will be starting on that in a bit. Also the Music issue is down to beats audio so that my friend is going and DSP manager is returning. Sorry people but the rom doesn't like it which means i will end up rebuilding the rom again For Beta 3.

Now if you want any other apps installed let me know before i complete the building.

Keep it lite in my opinion just put in what we need, most people have no problems downloading/installing their own third party apps + some apps just work better when installed from the market.

I can always make a Lite and a Full version like Rem Puzzle if need be, The issue with music player is down to beats for sure so will work on that now. Just about to test the theme issue now. Also I have include two File managers miui and file expert. The rom on stock is fast enough now on B3 but has slight lag in settings area also working on that and must be down to faulting issues on boot.

Once the base is perfect i think you might agree on this scratch we can make a start on the modding modding in the framework.apk files i have now found a windows app that will help out with that.

Currently the rom is so fast that apps try to kill themselfs before fully running which i am trying to fix as well.

Edit: scratch that is looking sweet mate nice work.

Edit3: Scratch the first theme in MIUI rom seems to have the black on black issue solved could you also test as well on B2 as it displays Black background Orange text.

Yeh i agree get a stable base and resized launcher, everything else can wait a while, i really am a noob at resizing but its all trial n error, the launcher is pretty easy to find certain things whereas the framework isn't so i'm not looking forward to that. Whats the windows app?

Can you upload the theme so i can take a look, i'm not sure which one you mean as i have that many.

Windows App is xdaAutoTool_V4.0.2 and also AndroidControl_v1.3.1 its in the General Andriod software area.

Edit: i have also found out the rom is getting a memory leak issue so trying to sort that too.

Once i have the base sorted we can then work on using the MIUI OTA Update to send updates that way there is a tut for this somewhere.

If you go into Themes its the very first theme in the list it has the picture of the Miui Icons with clock its called 5390323.mtz

hi mate the folder /data/system/theme needs to be created on first boot. Also i suffering from a lot of Memory leaks with the CM7.2 RC kernel as well. Anything you think that can help would be gratefully recieved.

Also need it so that the stays fast but apps do not timeout to quickly as well.

Edit: Beats is also back in B3 i have managed to get it working with dspmanager.apk be better if i was flashing the correct version and MiuiMusic doesn't have a issue with it anymore.

Edit2: i am now decompling the .apk files framework.apk and framework-miui.apk

updater-script => mkdir & chmod :)

For the kernel issue, I've seen a lot of "miui /sense /aosp" kernel, miui might need a particular defconfig too

thanks there scratch i know i mainly talk in gooble LOL. De compiling the framework files at the moment to see if i can see anything in there that might help with the issues on launcher etc.

i was thing about using the updater script to do that will have a bash of making a decent on as well.

Edit: just looking at the framework files and it seems there might be a conflicts with the color scheme hence the issue with black texts going to have a mess and see what happens.

Edit: now recompiling the framework with the mods by copying the MIUI items over to the main framework file.

I can't even recompile the files back now to .apk

Right the Black On Black issue is defo Theme based, only thing is the theme in question needs framework mods to ensure everything is in the correct place and size.

So people please test theme 5390323.mtz its the first theme on the rom icons will go big i know of that but test your apps that have Black on Black issues and report back!

    Thanks to topjor for pointing this out.

    If you have your rom setup already and would like to keep your apps if you have used a SD-EXT script makes sure you perform a nandriod backup in CWM.

    After Flashing the Rom restore only the /Data partition and SD-EXT Partition clear the caches and Reboot.

    Also if you flashing this rom from new Please Make Sure you Flash Gapps straight after the rom else it will not boot at all it will boot loop without Gapps.

    Screenshots are not always perfect ( No matter what i do i can't fix this so retake the screenshots till it does do it perfect.)
    Slight delay in screen response after app closes can cause a FC at times and can't be helped its mainly down to the GPS area.

    Dailer Lag might happen for some people use the V6 Charger script to correct this.

    Wifi Teathering not working USB does. Looking into this at the moment please use a 3rd party teathering program such as Open Garden Wifi Teather for now please.


    ALL THEMES DOWNLOADED THROUGH THEMES ARE DESIGNED FOR HDPI ALTHOUGH THEY WILL WORK THE LOCK SCREEN WILL BE TOOO BIG TO UNLOCK THE DEVICE. PLEASE MAKE SURE WHEN DOWNLOADING AND SELECTING A THEME TO UNCHECK LOCK SCREEN. IF YOU DON'T DO NOT COME CRYING IN THIS FORUM THREAD. I WILL JUST IGNORE THE WHINE'S PURE AND SIMPLE!!!!!!

    Performance Increase and Stabilization
    Theme Fixed and working so no more making theme folder in /data/system/ using script made by scratch.
    V6 charger removed at least for now.

    Symp Kernel 4.1 Added.
    Google Maps etc removed new addon packages will be made for this rom to go into /data/app once i can get data mapped to SD-EXT correctly.

    Beta 6 Changlog

    MIUI Performance Base Completed optimised.
    Java.io errors now removed.
    Scripts re-added for tweaks etc
    MIUI Graphics Fix added


    Some other things i forgot.

    The base of the rom is completed and can not go any faster. Most Memory leaks have been fixed as well.
    Stock CPU Speed feels now like 768mhz clocked.
    Apps that require SDCard reading loads faster this includes the SMS app overall the performance is now better.
    Touch Activation working correctly with the proper Touch MIUI app so turning off touch will work proper if activated via lock screen.

    Whats left to do. Remove the settings that no longer work, translate some apps and get a Theme section for LDPI done and made with themes from the community.

    Sort Widgets out and resize them correctly and a few other apps.

    Once the above is completed RC1 and then final will be made with addon packages.

    Thanks for the info looking into this atm. Use Symps 3.5 Kernel for now i have been in the red on battery for the past 3 days and its still going strong.

    Also i like to make it Clear to all. I am getting some PM's about this that and the other and how you want the final release out fast.

    And here is my reply so to save you from PM'ing me stupid questions.

    I work on this rom in my spare time i am not i repeat not a robot i can't just simply continue working day in day out on the rom.
    I do have a live just like everyone else if you continue pestering i will simply give the community the one finger and stop the dev of the rom.

    This might seem harsh to others that do not pester or are sending me messages about issue that i am grateful off but the stupid PM's can stop.

    If you have a speed or battery issue flash symps 3.5 Kernel it works well, if your GPS is not working reflash the Radio.
    If your language is not fully supported please wait there is more important issues to fix. If members can not except that then hardlines. Its no wonder why Wildfire Devs are so little in number. So give us some respect please and stop pestering!

    I am aware of the issues and i am working on them in the free time i have.

    Ok i have tried to disable 3G Data and this can not be done so sorry if you not on a data plan install the rom without your sim in till after you disable 3G.

    V6 Script is in and working and no FC's at last. /data/system/theme has now been added on Rom install so theme fix now works.

    The rom is now as fast as possible i can't make it any faster. So B4 Base is now made and should work a dream for most if not all users.

    Black on Black issue should be fixed as well. If you have apps in sd-ext partition they will not be erase either.

    So whats left to do. Well Themes for LDPI is needed icons need doing and a few apps need resizing and translating other then that Version 1.0 is not that far away.

    I shell now upload B4 to the webserver.

    Now as you are aware i am now shattered with all the working on this rom most of the day and late/early mornings. So if it is ok by everyone can one take a small break?
