Hey guys. I've got the 20120407 nightly on my phone at the moment with no major issues but for battery life, and I've been waiting to update for a couple of days now. I'm waiting for the next nightly to be released with that big load of updates in it. Any idea when that's coming? I always assumed nightlies were, well, nightly :)

Please don't flame me, just generally curious when it's coming. Take you're time, it'll be out when it's out and all that :)

Apparently there is a problem with the cm servers so there wont be a nightly until that is fixed...

I'm playing around with the camera tonight, and noticed that the auto and touch focus does not focus correctly.

If I have 2 objects some distance behind eachother I would expect to be able to selectavely focus on either the front or back object.
Now when I tap the front object to focus on it i can see that the camera searches for the correct focus distance, it then completely misses it and stops the focus way of. there is definately enough light and the focus square turns green (as if the focus was good) but it is in actual fact not focusing on the point i touched

Anyone else getting this?
Am I the only one?

If someone could just test this on their device and report findings, would be great

Thanks

Nice but how does it work? I install the new cm9 then flash this and once booted up to desktop it will automatically install google and remove the stuff? I'll have to backup the email apk as I find it the best to use :)

Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda premium

Install cm9 via cwm recovery and without exit cwm install my script the same way you installed cm9 and see the magic :)

They are currently upgrading the servers and doing some maintenance to enhance the build process, the majority of the stuff in the change log is upstream changes to the CM base which have no bearing on the SGS2 as it doesn't have the modes or hardware that these changes affect, so the rush to a new nightly is unnecessary, let them finish the changes. Nightlies don't have to be nightly if there are no changes worth building for a device.

Is there some tweak available to prevent the "tremor" when you keep the finger touching the screen?

I mean... the extreme sensitivity is awesome, but it can go from not even anoying to a somewhat pain in the ass when you're looking for precision to do something and the screen, or whatever you're moving, is jumping incessantly.

Hi. Does anyone know what is the process called kworker?? My better battery stats shows that kworker made up 90% of the amount of processes that I have from kworker/0:1 all the way to kworker/0:26! WTH!!

They are kernel processes which used to have unique names, but Samsung helpfully renamed them kworker to make it harder for us to debug maybe?

I've just noticed something. I've traipsed back through a fair few pages, and can't find any other mentions of it. My phone never drops down to 3G when I'm not using my data connection, constantly connected as H. It goes to H+ when I'm using data, but then just sits at H. Settings->About Phone and Network Signal Info app both confirm this. I've tried LPQ,R, and S modems and all do the same. Could this be causing some battery drain? T-Mobile UK incidentally.

update-cm-9-20120419-CODEWORKX-galaxys2-signed.zip
Download: http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?n55b4cc3m8cqomp

Changes:
switched mountpoints for sdcards to match cm standard:
/mnt/emmc = internal storage
/mnt/sdcard = external sdcard

eMMC is defined as embedded multimedia card which means an internal storage.
from an technical point samsung and lg are doing it wrong to name it sdcard. htc is doing it right since the beginning.
And because this is the CM standard, we'll simply follow it.

You can cry about this change, but it will not help you. This is how it will be in future.
We know you'll cry. ;-)

The menu item "install zip from internal sdcard" in recovery now points to the internal sdcard. It's not reversed anymore.

The storage menu at systemsettings -> storage -> storage configuration does exactly what it says now. It's not reversed anymore.

I wanted to do this change in cm7 a long time ago, but didn't want to hear all the terrible crying about it. Now it's time for it. ;-)

Edit: C'mon, stop crying. Goto systemsettings -> storage -> storage configuration and toggle it like you want it to be.

Never mind. After further research, it appears now T-Mobile and Orange have merged, they are doing work to their masts. I simply switched to another of the three Orange networks I had to choose from. Problem solved, it now drops to 3G.

CyanogenMod is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 4.0 (ICS), which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.

    Code:
    #include
    /*
     * Your warranty is now void.
     *
     * I am not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards,
     * thermonuclear war, or you getting fired because the alarm app failed. Please
     * do some research if you have any concerns about features included in this ROM
     * before flashing it! YOU are choosing to make these modifications, and if
     * you point the finger at me for messing up your device, I will laugh at you.
     *
     * Submitting bug reports on nightly builds is the leading
     * cause of male impotence.
     */

CyanogenMod is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. Linked below is a package that has come from another Android project that restore the Google parts. CyanogenMod does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.

All the source code for CyanogenMod is available in the CyanogenMod Github repo. And if you would like to contribute to CyanogenMod, please visit out Gerrit Code Review. You can also view the Changelog for a full list of changes & features.

If you're a bloody noob and getting confused by following simple instructions, go down and read about using the noob-proof ODIN method.

First time installing CyanogenMod 9 to your Galaxy S II, or coming from another ROM:
    - READ FAQs: http://teamhacksung.org/wiki/index.php/Experimental:GT-I9100:Frequently_Asked_Questions
    - Make sure you're running ICS bootloaders lower than LPH! (if you're unsure, flash the CM9 Resurrection Edition)
    - Make sure you're running a proper working ClockworkMod-Recovery
    - Copy GApps and CM9 ZIPs to your internal SDCard
    - Boot into Recovery
    - Flash CM9 zip
    - Flash GApps zip
    - DO A DATA WIPE / FACTORY RESET (otherwise your calendar sync will not work)
    - Reboot
    - Don't restore Apps using Titanium Backup!

Upgrading from earlier version of CyanogenMod 9:
    - Copy CM9 ZIP to your internal SDCard
    - Boot into Recovery
    - Flash CM9 zip
    - Reboot

    Using the noob-proof ODIN method:
    - Download CM9 Resurrection Edition
    - Download GApps and put it onto your internal sdcard
    - Open Odin
    - Choose cm-9-XXXXXXXX-ODIN-galaxys2.tar.md5 as PDA
    - Boot your phone into download mode
    - Connect your device via usb to your computer
    - Wait till Odin has fully recognized your phone
    - Hit the start button and wait till the flash process is finished
    - Device boots automatically into recovery
    - Flash GApps
    - Reboot into CM9
    - Follow above steps to update CM9 to lastest available version (Upgrading from earlier version of CyanogenMod 9)
