How to change the URL for htc accuweather?

Hi,
since a few days the weather app in the rom is unable to retrieve any data. I have read that htc may have changed the url and that you should change it in the registry. But i can not find any url values for the weather app in my registry. Can you help me fix the problem? Sorry for my bad english!!

Do you know what the new URL is? I'll see what I can find to change it.

Hi Nube,

I had the same problem. The URL had been changed. In another forum I found a solution that solved it.
You need to add the following key to your registry:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\HTC\Manila\Weather.Serv erURLOverride=h.t. t.p.://htc.accuweather.com/widget/htc/forecast-data_v3.asp?ac=TR2cra9U&locCode=%25ls

Of course without the dots in h.t.t.p. (the website does not allow me to post outside links.

The URL is : h.t.t.p://htc.accuweather.com/widget/htc/forecast-data_v3.asp?ac=TR2cra9U&locCode=%25ls

same as above: without the points between h.t.t.p!

I already tried to write the key in the registry in HKCU\Software\HTC\Manila but it still doesnt work.

THX for your help!

Hi Nube

I had added the key with Mobile Registry Editor (freeware). In the registry this looks as in the attached screenshot. You will have to reboot the device before it can download data from Accuweather.

Thank you for your help! I'm planning on creating a CAB file to install the changes, but I cannot find my WinCE Cabmanager installer anywhere. When I find it, I'll get something posted.

I've attempted making the changes listed above, but they don't seem to work on this ROM. If I run into something else that works, I'll try to create a CAB for it.

    This is a visit back to 23504 M2D and also an upgrade to 23569 M2D. I'll call it my M2D v3 (This is NOT M2D2 with the weather on the home tab. I have a working version of that ROM, but it's so slow that it's not really usable on a daily basis). My goal was to update the programs and packages in my old M2D and also try to make it more stable. 23504 has always been my favorite and most stable ROM that I've cooked, so I started with that and built this update.

    I will post the Self Extracting Kitchen, an RUU_Signed.nbh, and an AutoFlash file.

    What is AutoFlash you ask? I've taken the RUU file, added the Flashing Program, and Packaged it all up into an Auto Executing Auto Flashing Program, and, it's a smaller download than the RUU alone. ;) Pretty cool huh? Yes, others have already done this, but I'm going to make it a standard practice from now on.

    My recommendation for Flashing is:

    Make sure you have Hard SPL on your Phone. I recommend Olipro 1.20 - Click Here for More Info
    Be sure your battery is at least 50% full.
    Start your phone in Tri Color Screen mode. Steps below
    --Unplug your phone from USB
    --Hold down the Power & Camera Buttons
    --While still holding them down, press the Reset Button using the Stylus
    --Release the Reset Button, but continue to hold the Power/Camera buttons until you see the Tri Color Screen
    --Plug in the USB cable (if asked about installing a driver, do this), You should see USB in the White Box on your Phone Screen)

    Now you can Flash.
    Run the AutoFlash file, or Flash using the Standard Flashing Program included in the Kitchen.

    I Highly recommend setting up the Keyboard after the First boot following this video:

    I've created most of the SprSpt Packages myself from Cabs, but a few were existing and I just modified them a bit. Thanks to all who have created the originals. I've pulled them from many different places over the past couple years, but I'm sorry I don't remember where.

    This ROM was not designed for P3600i, and I don't have access to one to try it. :eek: It MIGHT work with the HEX edit, but no guarantee. I may try to bring the.decoy's work into this Kitchen and get P3600i working when I get another window of time. Thank you for your interest, and I'll TRY not to forget the P3600i users. ;)

    Yes, nAr.icke ROM is a very nice ROM.

    As far as the HD2 goes, I think you will be very happy with it. It is able to do many things, including running Android Very Well. The only problem I have with it is that I am on ATT in the USA, so I do not get 3G. I am stuck with Edge Data which is VERY slow to what I'm used to.

    But, I've decided that for now, I will keep it until I decide what my next phone will be. I'm thinking maybe the Samsung Focus with Windows Phone 7, but we will see when it arrives on Nov 8th. I have not been able to use the phone yet, so I will test it a little while before buying one. I've even debated the iPhone 4 (Cough, Cough), since my wife has one and I hack it all the time also. It would be nice to have two of them for video conferencing with her and my grandkids. One concern with either is that the Dual Core phones should be released shortly, and I'd hate to miss it by a couple months.

    I also have not decided what to do with my three old phones when I finally decide what to upgrade to. I've got a Trinity P3600, an ATT Tilt, and my T-Mobile HD2. The HD2 I MIGHT keep as a phone to continue to cook with. Although, I might sell them all to hopefully pay for the next phone.
