Re: [ANDROID 4.2.2][KERNEL] LeanKernel: Minimalistic Kernel [V1.5, 2/19/13]

Does anyone know if Paranoid Android is based on stock? It's by far my favorite ROM, so I would like to use this kernel with it.

In one sense all ROMs are based on stock. But to answer your question PA is based on AOSP and this kernel will work on it. Most of the kernels will work on most of the ROMs on the N7.

updated op to version 1.5.4

As the developer of this kernel, can you speak about how this compares to Franco kernel? That and this are both boasted as being the quickest and most battery conserving, and they're both recommended for the popular SmoothROM, so I wanted to get your possible thoughts. I know both are fantastic and completely usable, but the nit-picks are where it counts :p

One thing I know, this one supports USB audio, a deciding factor for me.

well for one im not the dev, imoseyon is, and also why dont you flash it to try it out:D

I ran some comparisons with device boot time and a few bench marks. Franco kernel is good, but Lean kernel just blows it out of the water. On ParanoidAndroid at least.

I was getting scores like franco with 4500ish on Quadrant and 13880ish on Antutu, but with Lean and the exact same settings it was going up to 5144 and 14889. Also boot up was much faster with LK. I know bench marks aren't very official, but they're good enough indicators for me to make a switch when I see a good one.

I try different kernels all the time. I always come back to LK though because its fast and smooth and I flash it and forget about it. Everything runs great.

Installed quadrant just to post this...130000max,row,interactive gov. nothing tweaked
If it means anything. I don't run benchmarks myself.
