Installed and running fine, using KE7 Modem found on latest firmware, will see how that goes with a full day tomorrow was experiencing very high battery drain on VR 1.2, so will test with this to make sure it's not the Modem otherwise will flash back to KE4 found in KE7.

Sorry for another post with same question but no one has answered it jet, I need to know before flash. Someone mentioned that he couldn't make calls with this ROM than the developer (can't remember his name right now) told him he needed KE7 modem? I'm not sure what a modem is but right now I'm on stock KE2 and want to flash this ROM is it ok or should I first flash KE7 and then install this ROM?
Thanks in advance!

You need the modem FROM KE7, so KE4 modem :)

Adding that on the next update!

Am a android newbie and so installing ROM for the first time and Cognition is the first.

my sgs2 was running KE8 rooted kernel and stock ROM.
I backed up all apps and data using Titanimum Backup -free version and it backed up around 140 items successfully.
I installed Cognition ROM using CWM recovery from SD card.
The installation went on for a while and then after successful installation i did a reboot.
The reboot took some time .once rebooted I set up google account.(thats the default).
Then first thing i did was installing the Titanium Backup. And then the restore of the backup i had done. I had to install apps one by one.(thats the case with free version i think). Then after 100% restore i found that many of the apps were missing. Not sure why.
Then as mentioned in this thread FM radio was not working and so I downloaded the Cognition update.zip. It automatically opened up ROM Manager and it asked for rebooting to CWM recovery. But on reboot all i got was a Warning icon on top of the Android symbol.I waited for a while and nothing happened.pressed power button and then restarted the phone. tried this coupla times and nothing happened.
on the third attempt there was warning +Android icon+ a bunch of horizontal lines.
Then when i pressed power button it somehow went into CWM recovery mode. then i installed the update from SD card.
then rebooted.
But the FM radio is not working now either.

Also the booting time of Cognition is much longer than stock ROM.

This is my experience with Cognition so far.

plz answer my questions and also need suggestions to get a clean install.

I now tried entering the recovery mode using the power button menu and it loaded CWM fine. And then i installed update.zip again.
Now FM radio is working.
Other observations.
1)Even if i dont have a sim card , signal strength icon shows up.
2)On pressing home button the unlock screen does not show up when the phone is unlocked.mebbe this is a feature.

Sounds like your system its pretty crapped up now. first boot always takes a while and with that many apps you will see delays.

Titanium backup sounds like it had issues, buy the app, much more reliable install method.

As for the recovery bit, read the huge red text in the op.

FM Radio working fine on v1.01 for me. I see you got it to flash and work now.

Home button a feature, taking it out tho, lots of people hate it.

Having signal with no sim in normal, e911 service on all phone, pretty sure it's a law.

Please don't force a modem update with your rom. I am running with the new KE7 modem and it works well with this rom. Give users the option to update the radio if they wish by having the download links in the OP but please don't include a modem in the base rom.

I will make it a separate downloadable zip, both modems.

Cognition S2 v1.02 Changelog: (coming soon)
Added KE4 modem/flashing
Reverted home button wake
Removed social hub apps (twitter, facebook, myspace, etc -- they suck)
Completely silent camera
Cleaned up junk files

wow!
Now using Villain 1.2, and its very nice but I'll definitely try Cognition v1.02.

Are there any major differences between the two ROMs?

Welcome to Cognition 777! The idea behind this rom is to unify my rom making efforts into a single rom for the i9100 and the i777 with only minor changes between them to make managing two or three roms take the time of one rom. I have decided to base everything on the i9100 stock firmware simply because it has less restrictions, more frequent updates, and way more options when it comes to customizations.

    Based on I9100XWKJ3 firmware
    Rooted, deodexed and zipaligned
    Ninphetamine-2.1.3 Kernel
    I9100XXKI3 Modem
    Bloatware removed

Camera: Take picture/video while on a call
Camera: Take picture/video with the volume buttons, click to focus and snap or hold to focus and let go to snap picture
Camera: Take picture/video without interrupting music
Camera: Records Audio in 192kbps/44.1Khz quality (CD Quality) rather than stock (64kbps/16khz quality)
Browser: Option to set font size
Browser: Option to select a user agent (sticks after reboot)
    Browser: Remove built-in bookmarks
Logs Provider: Removed text messages from logs
Launcher: Custom default layout on home screens and app drawer
Settings: Additional screen timeout options (30 minutes and never)
Settings: Enabled 'Stay Awake' development option
Settings: Enabled option to set default install location
Status bar: 5 bar signal (i9100 uses 4 bars)
    Wallpaper Chooser: Enabled hidden wallpapers

    Known Issues:
    No real issues so far.
TouchWiz starting on page one is not a bug
The dialer call buttons go to the call log with no number typed (this is normal on i9100 roms)

    FAQ

How do I enable my phone to connect to Kies?
    Disable USB debugging
Setting > Applications > Development > untick Enable USB Debugging

    How do I navigate recovery?
Volume buttons are up and down
    Power button is back
    Home button is select

How do I clear data from recovery?
    Select "wipe data/factory reset"

Why don't I see the new download links?
Clear your cache or do a hard refresh (ctrl+r or ctrl+f5)

    Is this rom rooted?
    YES!

Why is my battery draining so fast?
Testing the rom for less then a day and reporting a battery drain is like sticking your face in a blender and wondering why it hurt. Please calibrate your battery, check your apps usage, etc.

Why is this app not working(FC)?
When updating, tons of things can go wrong, especially with using old data on a new app. If you are getting an FC after updating, clean the cache on the app, if that doesn't work, clear the data. (Settings > Applications, find you app, click the buttons)
