Well, I just flashed this, and my opinion is no. I happened to be booting from the secondary slot when I flashed it, and it flashed ok, but when I booted up I was unable to turn wifi on at all. I changed the boot to the primary slot and rebooted, and then wifi would turn on and worked fine. In both cases, the settings -> about said that I had the EXTREEM kernel.
That is probably why civato furnished a "go back" zip.
As to battery life, it's too early to tell, but as initially installed, this defaults to 1ghz and pretty much the stock stuff, so if it is never changed, it should render battery life very similar to stock. If you don't have setcpu, you probably wouldn't overclock it anyway.
For my purposes, this will be better than having two slots to switch between saving battery life and speed, since you can do it on the fly with setcpu, and have Profiles, etc. If it doesn't have any compatiblity issues, this is likely to be better.
Thanks again, civato !!
