Sorry for all the questions, last set.
So I have to re-flash the original rom that was on my phone rather than re-flash the original kernel?
Or do I just re-flash the original kernel, run CF-root and then finally restore?
Reflash the firmware that came with your phone out of the box, then cf root. Then restore.
Press Thanks if I helped
Just to be on the safe side reflash from stock then cf root then restore. Keep in mind that when u restore a nandroid backup try to always use the kernel/CWM that u took the backup with.

hi there
i still don't understand something about this root
Is it possible to update the firmware officially (using kies I mean ) after you root the phone?
thanks for your reply
best regards
I went through the procedure several times in rooting my S3 so that I could install Titanium back up downloaded from Google play
I use the last CF-root v 6.3 and meanwhile noticed that the CWM manager has changed
When I try to use BatteryCalibration or Titanium back up I get a message that the device isn't rooted
I also cannot find the SU app
When starting up I can see that I already have 3 counts
What am I missing
I've done hundreds of restores to and from different roms and kernels and never had a problem.
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda premium
I've installed CF-root 6.3 on my GT-I9300, everything went fine.
Then I looked for the triangle but couldn't see it when booting.
Anyway, I wanted to make sure that the counter is reset, so I installed Triangle Away 1.51
When I start it , it says that it needs to download an add-on, I accept. (this occurs in every startup of the app even though it was downloaded before)
then it says on the app menu : "current status can not be determined"
I press "reset flash counter" anyway, after "cecking kernel" the app closes.
am I using a wrong Triangle Away version ?
You need a kernel that supports Triangle away. You can use Perseus kernel for example.

Are you sure that stock kernel is not supported ?
Because I'd read the instructions of CF-root and there itwas recommended to install Triangle Away.
As CF-root is most commonly used with stock kernel, it should be supported.
No ?
What If:
1) I make factory reset. Root will be reverted ?
2) I install firmware by ODIN ? Root will be permanently wiped ?
Is there any EASY way to uninstall ROOT ?
Or root without modded kernel ?
As i understand correctly cause of the separate recovery partition we only need one CF-Root now? Not like the SGS2 were every new firmware needed a new CF-Root.
