I think that, for most of u experiencing lags, go back to RC3.1, and wait for RC5 which should be around the corner if follows to past release the difference between days is about 7, now is almost 11 days so i think the next release is around the corner, wait for it patiently, give the developer sometimes to resort the issues, i believe that the developer can see what you guys are facing, and they are trying hard for our SGS, so, we should be grateful instead of complaining, just my 2 cents..=D

I don't know why glitch v14 b3 isn't much popular ics kernel but I advise you to try it. It's stable and fast.

I benchmarked semaphore 0.8.1, devil 1.1 bfs and glitch v14 b3 on rc4.2 (installed on top of stock jvu) using nenamark2, all on the same liveoc settings (110%), same schedulers and governors. semaphore was considerably slower than the rest scoring only about 25 fps while glitch and devil scored pretty much the same with a result of ~29 fps.

I ran the test several times on each kernel to obtain stable results.

Don't know what all the hype about permissions with efs is. I just

Went back to darky
Copied efs
Flashed ics
Made root r/w in root explorer
Copied over saved efs files
restarted
Win

I was one of the first to loose my imei on this thread and this process seemed quite obvious and simple to me. Not sure why rom flashers have such issues really.

Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA App

that exactly what I did but with nitrality app. went back, backed up. Installed ICS restored and thats it. Loving this rom!

This rom is very beautiful. I followed the installation guide (flash JVZ with ODIN, then installing 4.2 RC via CWM) but I think I've found a bug: when I make or receive calls, I cannot hear anything. 3G and text messages work great, it seems a "speaker-related bug".
Any hints?
Thanks in advance.

Bye.

I've found a bug with live wallpapers.

I'm Android 's developer and testing some live wallpaper I've found this bug:

As you can see, this wallpaper is always showing CurrentOffsetX value, which should be only shown when you change from a desktop to other...

Im from malaysia too bro, i dont experience these issues, Im using Sygic, and its works flawlessly

ok i just flashed RC 4.2
i got the bootloop after the first flashed but i wiped everything again, installed .zip file from sd again and this time it booted right.
now everything seems fairly ok but i have an IMEI of 0049.....which means its actually lost my proper IMEI.now i have a backup.
2 questions:

1)since i lost my ogirinal IMEI my phone shouldnt be able to operate right?
i do have good signal tho, no error messages and i just made a phone call.hows that possible?or have i got it figured out wrong?

2) should i restore my efs backup and if yes is the following way the way to do it right?

cp /sdcard/nv_data.bin /efs/nv_data.bin
rm -rf /efs/nv_data.bin.md5
reboot phone.
(Most probably, now your SIM will not work and you will not be able to login into your phone. Please don’t be panic. We are with you :)

Pop off the SIM.

Boot smartphone.

Run the below commands

su

chown 1001:1001 /efs/nv_data.bin

or theres a better way?

This ROM is really good! So far after almost a week of use I haven't run into any real issues yet which was a positive surprise considering ICS isnt officially supported at all on SGS. Even the GB-based MIUI rom i came from had significantly more issues then this rom!
Also installation was easy.

Only downside of running ICS on SGS is the amount of free ram is a bit on the low side compared to say cm7, but nothing that will keep it from functioning (and quite smoothly at that!)

THanks!

I have RC4.2 with Devil 1.1 CFS. For some few days it was working fast, but now the speed is sometimes terrible - especially when opening app drawer.

It's definitely RC4s' bug.

I've tested many ROMs (including ICSSGS RC3.1, RC4.1, RC4.2) and I've never noticed such slowing down. No matter what kernel and apps you have, your phone will slow down after 7-14 days of normal use.
BTW, batt is great.

Now I'm thinking to finally change to RC3.1.

try using GPS AIDS, I use it to download XTRA data and change the ntp server to your world hemisphere, I get a lock in 30secs with 10-30 mts accuracy.

Is the browser hardware accelerated in this build? I'm running teamhacksung build 12, and the browser is quite laggy on jquery mobile pages.

NOTICE: We apologize for the lack of updates recently, we just want to make it clear that development has under NO circumstances stopped. We are absolutely still working on this and still supporting it. Thank you for your patience.

This ROM is based directly on the source code straight from Google themselves, the way Android is meant to be. This ROM is produced by a collaboration of many different people, with the main development being done by Onecosmic himself. We strive to bring releases as often as possible and provide a stable AOSP ROM. As this is a work in progress, bugs are to be expected! Please check the known issue's before posting/reporting bugs.

Source code can be found here

If you can, please donate a small amount via paypal, we do this for fun and this is optional but it is greatly appreciated and it is a way for you to contribute. If you want us to support another Galaxy S type phone and you have an extra of it, we may consider supporting the phone if you donated it to us to work on. If you think you have a phone that we could support, PM me or any other Team ICSSGS members and we will discuss the possibility of us supporting it.

We do not support anything that is not produced by us!

Ok, work sucks, life not but takes time and so on...

Here i am after getting a couple of minutes to post :)

Lets start with a couple of things:

Battery issues: If you don't complete 2 full charge cycles (discharge to 0 and charge to 100% 2 times) please do not complain about battery life, all android versions needs this in order to calibrate battery comsumption, this is mandatory.

Brightness: I know is darker and have steps not working, i'll fix that, not sure if with an update or in the full release (again, lack of time)

Wifi tether: does not work yet, its a mater of time.

USB tether, worked for me all day today, no mayor issues. anyhow i'll try to check with other users to see what happens.

Voodoo color kernel: it was compiled due to request from several users, i dont like it and i dont have time to check why the gamma tables get screwed, you can adjust them using voodoo control apk. :)

T9 on dialer: wip, again, not sure if update or next release.

Dictionary, there is a update that someone put on the thread, please take a look, it works without issues.

TV Out: i'll get a cable today to test, i dont have one until now so i was not able to test it :)

Media Scanning: i'll check on that (slowness, memory consumption and duplicate names).

Besides of the things above, i have a i9000b phone (almost the same as i9000, minor differences) its complicate to diagnose problems in vibrant or captivate without having the device, so far i know that gps does not work on cappy i'll try to o my best, but again, without having the devices is difficult to test everything.

    Cheers!
