what's better: root it permanently or temp? Why is there a temporaly root while permanent seems to be better?
temporary root is only needed temporarily to enable sde

As an afterthought, how do I correctly close down the cmd window when I'm finished? At the moment I am using task manager to end the process.
Adb is safe and doesn't interfere with anything usb relatedThanks Telyx, I can close the cmd window without any problem. What concerns me is that adb.exe is still running in the background.I don't suppose it will do any harm to just pull the usb, will it?
I'm pretty sure typing EXIT closes ADB as well as closing the window.
adb kill-server
Guys im in the process now of rooting my archos 101 G9, i'm at the beginning and have just downloaded the ADB drivers, and also the android SDK tools, but once i finished downloading the SDK tools, it opened up and gave me the option to install 8 packages and underneath it says delete 1 package...

do i need to install these 8 packages? i hope so because i clicked it
and its taking ages to install them.
someone please tell me i've done the right thing?
